The hotel is well placed in Tremblant for getting onto or off the slopes being about 50 yeards from the base of the gondola that takes you to the main ski area. You can ski back to about 50 yards if the small gondola is closed. The hotel staff were all pleasent but in general the hotel needs an upgrade. The public areas are all used by people in ski boots so will be messy and worn. The reception area had a good clean after the busy weekend but the corridors were all messy with one biscuit being on the floor for 4 days and was still there when we left. The room was clean and tidy but the bed had seen better days as had the old style TV. The bath was tiny but the over bath shower was good with lots of hot water even at busy times. Our view was over the lake at the back and was nice and quiet even at the busy weekend when lots of teenagers arrived. The smell of people cooking in their rooms pervades the corridors but not the room. The self service breakfast is OK but some days the choice was a bit lacking and there needs to be a training course for some people on how to use a waffle iron as it was constantly getting stuck. At the weekend the breakfast room was very busy but thats to be expected. At the Canadian and North Amercan holidays the hotel will be very busy at which time you wont be able to get into the breakfast room which had less than 25 tables. WiFi started at $4.95 an hour plus tax which is very expensive for something that is essentially of little cost to provide. The ski lockers are big enough for 2 sets of skis and probably boots but dont have shelves or racks to put things on. I dried our boots in the room by placing them upside down on the blow air heater. Whilst at the hotel we recieved a call from Intrawest and were stopped twice in the street for the usual sales tour and the info in the room was the sales pack for the range of properties they had in the resort. Being able to buy a room probably explained the large numbers of teenagers as I expect they will pack a room. The hotel is well placed for the range of bars in town. Overall everything works in Tremblant as its an Intrawest resort. It looks good as well but is expensive given all the extra taxes we dont see in Europe. As a guide, 2 beers and 2 small glasses of wine were $38 which is more than Austria and most French resorts. A rack of ribs was $25 plus tax. All the bills have a 'tip guide' for service. I gave around 10% as overall it was OK but nothing special. The town is mainly bar type food which are all the same, with a few higher end restaurants. The range of shops is enough for a small town but again everyting was expensive. You had one of each of the big ski/board brands and then a couple of general outdoor shops and a very small supermarket and a couple of gift shops. Tremblant is a small resport with about 35 miles of skiing on 95 runs. I'd go back as I liked it but would wait a few years and perhaps book direct.
