“Very good service, but weird smell wouldn't leave!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

I kind of feel bad about what I have to stay, bacause the staff was very friendly and understanding. I booked a nice big room with a great view of the Tremblant Village for my parents. While greeting them for dinner, I asked about the room and they told me it was great, but it really smelled awful. I then went to check it out, and yes, there was something very weird about it, so I went to the front desk to ask them to change rooms. Quickly done, very good service...But....The other room was smaller, with a similar but less overwhelming smell. My parents decided to keep the first room, so the guy at the front desk told us he would have the carpets cleaned (which only took about an hour). When we came back, it was a mix of the awful smell and perfume...I personnaly would not have stayed, but my parents did and overall they had a great trip and they said they would go back to the hotel.

On a positive note, the proximity to the Tremblant village is great, outdoor pool and spa seemed fantastic and everyone was very welcoming and accomodating.

“Amazing location, over-priced”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

I've stayed at several Fairmont properties, and I would agree with other reviewers that this hotel's amenities are not what I would expect from the brand. I think the service and location of the hotel makes up for it though. If you're someone that wants to maximize your time on the slopes, Fairmont is a good choice. It is situated metres from the ski lifts, and when you stay at the resort you get "first track" tickets so you can get on the mountain 45 minutes before the general public. We also loved being able to pop up to our room on our lunch break, take off the ski boots, and have a healthy, cheap lunch that we brought with us rather than squeezing into an over-crowded and over-priced restaurant. I also found the service excellent: from the valet, to the front desk, to the ski valet and the restaurant staff.
It's very nice to sit by the big roaring fireplace with a glass of wine, and on the Saturday night that we were there they had someone playing live music on a beautiful piano. The pool and fitness facilities were excellent, as was the breakfast buffet. If you can get a deal here, there are sometimes promos for $169/night in a standard room, then I think the convenience is worth it. I definitely would not pay $300/night though.
P.S. Make sure you sign up for the Fairmont President's Club program (free) so you can have free wifi access

“Not up to Fairmont level”

The skiing was great and the hotel location even better! The front desk was very nice and cordial. The concierge and parking reception were also A-One. The things dropped! The rooms seem tired and old,,,,, ours smelled musty. The carpets were worn and stained. The bar/restaurant was down right terrible. Food was luke warm, all the tables were dirty and it took 30 minutes just to see a waiter. The French onion soup tasted like dish water with cheese on top. I have been to many Fairmont locations and really like them. this one gave us a bad taste and I wouldn't return unless things are cleaned up. The rooms are no better than a local motel.

Room Tip: Avoid the smoking floors. Too much noise and smell.

“Much ado about nothing...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

We booked this hotel because it is supposedly the best and because of the year-round outdoor pool in tremblant village.

One of the valet's very rudely reminded me that "this is a five star hotel madame".
Sure it is, if we were in a third world country which, we are not. Unfortunately the Fairmont brand has still been able to sell rooms in this sub par hotel due to its location in the village.
In any other location in North America this hotel would be a 3.5 star at best.

Our room was very average with a cracked sink in the bathroom and they use broken pieces of granite (construction waste) on the bathroom counter as decoration.

Wi-fi was not available in our room. If I wanted wi-fi, I either had to pay $18 for it or go downstairs, sign up for the president's club (which, as you can tell from this review, would never happen), and then get a password for the internet. I was in such a hurry, this was just unacceptable. Every other hotel in North America has free, hassle free wi-fi, besides this place.

The highlight of our stay was the outdoor pool which, incidentally, was very dirty. While we were bathing in the pool, a used band-aid and a crushed plastic cup floated past us.

This hotel did not come anywhere near meeting my expectations considering what we paid to stay here and the service was terrible.

Do yourselves a favor and stay somewhere else. I know that I will never go back.

“Lovely way for winterland escape with the family”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

My family and I have been to the Fairmont in Mont-Tremblant a few times and every time we love it just as much. The rooms are good size, lovely decorated with big windows and the beds are very comfortable. The staffs are very helpful. They have 1 big pool, 1 very large hot tube and 2 other small once that are open all year long wish my kids have enjoyed very much. The breakfast there is simply amazing buffet style with so much choice and variety. The location of this hotel is perfect as you are right beside all amenities that Mont-Tremblant has to offer.
I definitely recommend this hotel.
