“Major Letdown!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 August 2010

I arrived at the motel two nights than the rest of my group to find the rooms were not cleaned even when they had arrived and requested the rooms be cleaned numerous times. This place was a major letdown and huge dissapointment to everyone. Not clean, no hotel staff for assistance, small stuffy rooms, no fans in bathrooms, dirty water, dirty carpets, nail clippings in some rooms, people had to move rooms multiple times because of cleanliness and/or no water in shower.

I would not reccommend this motel to anyone ever!

“What a sleazy hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 August 2010

We were in Renfrew for a wedding.
My immediate family had 4 rooms and there were at least another 6 rooms held by friends attending as well. I had a chance to look in several of them and hear about others.
Mine was not vacuumed the entire time I was there. Carpet is a mess, walls and ceiling haven't been wiped for a LOOONG time.
Lamp shades came with the place and the cigarette burns are everywhere. If we had not asked for towels we might not have even gotten them. The Bridle suite even had hot and cold running rust and toe nails in the corner.
The owners are apparently new over the last year and also own the Best Western franchaise as well-you know I won't go there either.
Another group of owners from the far east who just want our money. Speaking of money, they charge way to much. I've paid half the price and received quality service this place hasn't a hyope of giving.
The restuarant is supposed to be separate and the food is very good but one has to wonder.
I'll go to an another town close - by the next time.

“It's a shame that a local business is such a poor quality hotel.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2010

This hotel has seen better days. Overall, the rooms are small, outdated and dirty. From thick dust on lamps to the toothpaste of previous guests on mirrors, the rooms leave much to be desired. The rates are surprisingly expensive too! Noisy guests are not dealt with by hotel staff. When I called the front desk to request an iron, they told me that they are "completely separate from the hotel" (even though the phone was answered with "front desk"). It is a mystery that this the owners of this hotel do not take better care of it. Eat at the restaurant and go to the pub, but stay elsewhere.

“yuck”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2010

Dirty Carpet, Dirty couch, no cushioning to the couch at all for that matter. Dingy lighting, could only get into the bed on one side. Would not take a bath in the tub ugh. Flooring in the bathroom was so disgusting I wouldn't step on it in my bare feet. TV had maybe 3 channels, no internet. We stripped the bedding to check the mattresses for bed bugs or whatever else and it seemed ok. You could hear the ppl upstairs cough that's how thin the floors/walls are. Found out they rent these rooms by the month, not sure who lived in the one we were in but they obviously had a few accidents on the carpet. The restaurant which is not owned or operated by the same ppl as the motel, I must say is fabulous. Hopefully being attached to such a skeezy motel isn't affecting their business at all.

“Don't confuse the Restaurant with the Motel !!!!!!!!!!!!!”

My husband and I stayed at the Rocky Mountain Lodge last month. As per the other awful reviews, our stay wasn't nearly that bad. The rooms are lacking somewhat in the cleanliness department, however, we had no problems otherwise. Upon check-in, which is located at the front desk of the Rocky Mountain Restaurant, we were greeted with friendly and very helpful staff members. We were informed at this point, that although the motel and the restaurant are attached, their ownership is completely separate. We ate at the restaurant more than once during our stay, and my husband still raves about the food, not to mention the efficiency and professionalism of the wait staff. We both highly recommend the restaurant, and we just want readers know about the two businesses having no ownership affiliation. I'm sure we would stay in the lodge again, and you can guarantee that during our travels to the Valley, we'll be enjoying more delicious meals at the Rocky Mountain House !!
