The rooms in this auberge are immaculately kept and well serviced each day. Breakfast served 8 to 10. The location is superb for views over Lac Des Sables, where you can take a 50 minute boat tour/$14 (this in the Fall too). The boat leaves from Ste Agathe town, not by the Auberge. The only place we could go to locally for a meal was an extremely convenient Greek, at the foot of the drive to the auberge. Lezbos. It was $200 for two people with one bottle of wine, so be prepared. The food was good but not excellent. There is a small shared fridge at the Auberge on the middle floor, so get some groceries in if you don't want to drive. You can get delivery to the auberge, but it is difficult to find at night for the locals even. A bizarre thing with the room is that there is a filter coffee maker, but the Auberge does not supply any coffee (I asked). I wondered why I would travel to the grocery to buy filters and whether small packs of coffee could be bought. And why I would not just go to a coffee shop instead. Either take the coffee makers out of the room, or provide coffee. The breakfasts were fresh, continental on steroids. The only hot food is toast. Beyond that there is cereal, local jams, coffee, hot water and tea bags, and the owner serves you a platter with fresh fruit, rolled ham, cheese, and two cold boiled eggs. Most enjoyable, but not bio, and not all ingredients locally acquired. The floors creak and you can hear people in the rooms above and below, so not exactly the romantic getaway opportunity you might think. Lovely decks to sit out on. Around 9 or 10 rooms, geared for couples. I would go back.
Room Tip: Bring a bottle of wine, or two. Pay extra for a suite with a balcony.
