“Don't Ask for a Smoking Room!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2010

Stayed one night on our way to PEI. Staff at desk very helpful. We asked for a smoking room for my husband so I suppose it's on our fault that we got the most foul smelling room I've ever stayed in. We have stayed in smoking rooms before, but never have I ever experienced anything like this. The sheets, comforters and pillows stank of smoke. I really think that if we had asked for a non-smoking room it would have been fine. The rooms themselves are nice and large and, otherwise, clean. The wi-fi worked well and we enjoyed a nice free breakfast the following morning. Very quiet location.

“Happy with our choice.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2010

We stayed here twice, once on our way down east, once on our way back home. Rooms both times were clean, front desk was helpful and polite. Free wifi was nice, great water pressure. Clean beds. All we were looking for on our "travel days".
We got room service from the onsite pub and the food was good, and hot.
No complaints, aside from traffic noise.

“Somewhat pricey and no ice?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2010

We were on our way to PEI so we decided to book reservations at the Comfort Inn in Edmundston, NB. I had previous used Comfort Inn's throughout my travels and had always been satisfied so I decided to try the one in Edmundston. The price of the room was, in my eyes, somewhat expensive...$139 with (CAA membership applied). We arrived fairly late and there was no problem checking in. The room was relatively clean and spacious. I was somewhat thirsty after our drive and needed some ice for my drink but when I got down to the lobby and to the ice machine, there was none left. I approached the check-in counter and they told me it will take sometime for the ice to kick in. They also told me that there were a lot of people staying there and that they had used up all of the ice. While there, I ran into a group that had gone out to purchase ice and were willing to sell me a bag. I decided not to buy from them and planned to go out to one of the local gas stations to buy some. I could not understand how a hotel this size only had one machine. By the way, my room was on the second floor and there were no ice machine on that floor....I thought that was daft of the chain/owner. I was getting somewhat agitated due to this problem and eventually decided to stay for the ice machine to kick in instead of going out in the rain and lightning to purchase some. Half hour or so went by before I got some. I went back to my room and tried to relax after this harrow ordeal by watching TV. In the morning, we showered and went down for breakfast. The breakfast consisted of cereals, bagels, toast, coffee, juices and milks which is the norm for many Comfort Inn's in Canada. We eventually checked out and proceeded on our way to PEI. The only recommendation I would make to the owner of this establishment is to get another ICE Making Machine on the second floor. The way things were there that time was a nuisance.

“It's fine for stopping for the night”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2010

We reserved this motel based on Tripadvisor reviews and found it a ok place to drop our luggage for the night on our way to the maritime. We reserved two rooms the morning of our travel to Edmundston and by the time we arrived at 8pm, the motel was fully booked. The front desk was pleasant and we were given directions to nearby restaurants given not much is happening at 8pm on a weeknight there.
The rooms were clean but nothing fancy, 2 floors but no elevators so dragging up heavy luggage would not be recommended for elderly travelers. Breakfast complimentary. One pitcher of freshly squeezed orange juice was provided for the early risers (the pitcher sat empty the whole time we were there) but machine concentrated for the later arrivals. One lovely lady manned the breakfast room and she was not able to keep up with demands. The only hot food was the hardboiled eggs in the slowcooker, extremely hot coffee and whatever you put in the toaster.
What I didn't like was having to walk past men smoking outside the entrances but I guess it's better having them smoke outside than inside the rooms.

Hotel had a great location just off the highway, great view of the city and very clean comfortable rooms that look new. Staff was freindly and helpfull and very bilingual which was important for me. Free breakfast was among the best I had.
