We were on our way to PEI so we decided to book reservations at the Comfort Inn in Edmundston, NB. I had previous used Comfort Inn's throughout my travels and had always been satisfied so I decided to try the one in Edmundston. The price of the room was, in my eyes, somewhat expensive...$139 with (CAA membership applied). We arrived fairly late and there was no problem checking in. The room was relatively clean and spacious. I was somewhat thirsty after our drive and needed some ice for my drink but when I got down to the lobby and to the ice machine, there was none left. I approached the check-in counter and they told me it will take sometime for the ice to kick in. They also told me that there were a lot of people staying there and that they had used up all of the ice. While there, I ran into a group that had gone out to purchase ice and were willing to sell me a bag. I decided not to buy from them and planned to go out to one of the local gas stations to buy some. I could not understand how a hotel this size only had one machine. By the way, my room was on the second floor and there were no ice machine on that floor....I thought that was daft of the chain/owner. I was getting somewhat agitated due to this problem and eventually decided to stay for the ice machine to kick in instead of going out in the rain and lightning to purchase some. Half hour or so went by before I got some. I went back to my room and tried to relax after this harrow ordeal by watching TV. In the morning, we showered and went down for breakfast. The breakfast consisted of cereals, bagels, toast, coffee, juices and milks which is the norm for many Comfort Inn's in Canada. We eventually checked out and proceeded on our way to PEI. The only recommendation I would make to the owner of this establishment is to get another ICE Making Machine on the second floor. The way things were there that time was a nuisance.
