I discovered this location a few years ago when comparing the pricing alternatives in the Ottawa / Gatineau region. The Hilton was priced lower than some of the other chains in Ottawa. I stayed there fearing that the price meant a lower quality. They blew my socks off in the quality of the rooms and the superior service at the hotel. Rarely do I stay anywhere else when in the area.

We stayed here for a friend's wedding in late summer. My first impression was that the look of the hotel was not very nice- the lobby is small (though the decor is interesting), and the outside I think is quite ugly during the day, both the exterior of the hotel and the fact that it's surrounded by huge ugly parking lots in the front- you can't see the great view from there! So it wasn't particularly atmospheric when we arrived, even with the wedding decor in the ballroom, the hotel felt very generic because of all of the conference and meeting spaces. What made up for this was the service, the staff were helpful, informative, and very quick, and the food. We only had one restaurant meal there, the weekend brunch, which was excellent. Huge variety of good-quality foods for a very good price. We ate at a table on the deck and had a gorgeous lake view, and it was one of the nicest moments of the trip. Also, the room we booked was a very good size and quite comfortable. At night, with the outside lights and the lobby lit up, it was like a different place. It was really beautiful, and we absolutely loved being able to walk around the gardens all lit up at night. That part was lovely, it felt very romantic and cozy. Overall, it was a nice experience, and if we had a function in the area again, I wouldn't feel the need to look for another hotel.

I only stayed one night for the NHL all star game in Kanata, so I didn't get to use much of the facilities, but the rooms were very nice, and the casino was actually nicer than expected. Staff that I did run into were friendly enough. I would definitely go again if I was in the area

Travelling through Ottawa to Montreal we needed a place to stay and figured we'd give it a go. No real intentions to gamble, it was the only decent hotel available at the time. Clean, convenient not much else to say.
