“Dec 30th lunch in the Dining room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

Went to check out the Hotel as we are attending a family wedding in May. Very impressed with the hotel lobby and restaurant.
We decided to try lunch and it was really good.
We also asked to view a room as we would like to report to the many other guests that will be attending the wedding at the Sooke Harbour House, but the front desk staff reported she was the only one there and could not help us with that request. Too bad, would have loved to report back to the other 80 people.
Lovely clean washrooms in the main area.

Thank you for visiting our property. I will be sure to pass on your compliments to the restaurant. It is unfortunate that you were unable to view the rooms. We hope that will not deter you from staying with us in the future.

“Wonderful Getaway in Sooke, BC”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 December 2011

I had an amazing stay at the Prestige Oceanfront Resort in Sooke, BC. Where do I start? The lobby is gorgeous and was decorated beautifully for Christmas. As you walk in to the hotel there is a breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean through the terrace windows. My room had the same breathtaking view of the marina and ocean. The bed was amazing – plenty of pillows and very comfortable! The room itself was elegant and luxurious! I felt like royalty. I had several meals in the restaurant (the mix by Ric’s), and everything was delicious! There are so many things to do while you’re there – fishing, whale watching, eco-tours, zip lining, hiking, kayaking – and Victoria is only about 40 minutes away. The hotel also has a spa – I had a great massage thanks to Tara, one of the spa’s estheticians – an indoor pool and fitness center. The spa, pool and fitness center also have great views of the water. The hotel staff was probably the nicest I’ve ever had the pleasure of dealing with at a hotel. Everyone was so cheerful, helpful and accommodating. I cannot wait to go back…I’m sure it’s just as spectacular in the summer!

Room Tip: Each floor has a different theme. The 5th floor is the opulent floor - gorgeous!!

“Great place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2011

We just got back from our weekend stay at the Prestige and WE LOVED IT!!!! check in was a breeze and staff was very friendly. Our room was beautiful and we loved the tv in the bathroom. Bathtub was a nice big size and beds were quite comfy. The view was very nice and we really enjoyed the pool&hottub. Very fresh and clean everything from the room to the pool to the lobby. We had a great time at the Prestige and we will be back for sure and will surely recommend this hotel to family and friends. A big Thank you to Ben! We cant wait to come back to this fantastic hotel.

“Slippery tiles coming out of elevator, doubt manager will take our fall seriously and change the tiles.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

We stayed as part of a team road trip. The hotel is new and comfy. The safety concern for their patrons, not so nice. The elevator leading to the swimming pool opens onto tiles that are very slippery when wet. As other patrons use and leave the pool with wet feet or even when the weather is wet and rainy, the tiles are extremely slippery. Our little girl slipped and fell on her tailbone, and as for myself, my foot gave way when I stepped on a little puddle. The manager Jacob was notified, but the staff did not offer ice packs or medical attention to our girl. We advised the manager to have the tiles redone. I doubt that is happening. Changing 300 sq ft of tiles is cheaper than a lawsuit!

We take the safety of our guests very seriously. Our management and staff practiced due diligence in following our accident procedures. They spoke with the guest in question immediately as to her condition and advised the guardian that if medical attention should be necessary, then she should consider a visit to the emergency room.

“A good Start...not yet Prestige...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

My husband and I stayed at the resort in mid September 2011. The 'resort' is still fairly new and all the staff where quite cheery and helpful. We have stayed at many hotels and resorts over the years and this did not quite stand up to the hype of it's advertising. Sooke is a growing destination and definetly has much to offer to the nature traveller. There are many beautiful spaces to experience and the hotel is centrally based. That being said it is on the small side for a resort.... the interior has a noticably 'Costco' type decor.... There are still many growing pains showing.
As we entered the entry foyer the first thing we found a little confusing was their front desk is hidden behind pillars way off to the right.... Now we passed a coffee bar, a tapas bar... a sitting room and were still thinking where is the front desk? Like I said the staff seems to still be learning some of the ins and outs but are very friendly and cheerful and a gentle call of 'can I help you directed you to a tiny front desk.
As this is a small 'resort' only a few floors and one elevator it is not uncommon for me and my husband to simply use the stairs to move through a hotel of this size....where were the stairs? We were there Friday through Sunday and like many of the guests...still did not find the stairs. No signage to direct you and lots of dead ends when you went to check for them.
As this was late in the season there was not alot of amenities outside for staff to enjoy, views where temperarily obscured by the sited and sounds of the new municipal dock under construction. Our accomodations though reasonably priced had a view of the parking lot!
Not too bad until the staff where getting off shift after midnight...1am ish or later and were having their social time right outside our window.
The bar offered some basid selections and the meals were not bad, not exceptional for the price.
The view from the restaurant is lovely though and the staff did their best to serve in a timely manor.

Room Tip: Water side with the covered walkway
