Our family of four stayed at the Motel St-Patrice in Riviere-du-Loup on October 6, 2004. The motel is simple and there isn't really much to do, other than sleep and watch television. It is across the street from the river and there isn't much of a view to speak of. They do serve a continental breakfast with juice, coffee, cereal and toast. The chairs there are not the most stable and our four-year-old flipped hers out from under her twice.
We stayed during the middle of the week so we didn't hear much noise, other than traffic on Rue Fraser.
There is a restaurant of the same name nearby but it didn't seem kid-friendly when we drove by so we ate at the IGA grocery store.
The female innkeeper did speak some English so there wasn't much of a problem communicating.
It is fine as a place to spend one night as you drive along the St. Lawrence but I wouldn't recommend it for longer stays.
