“Wonderful Waterfront Experience”

Tony and Betty are in a class by themselves. Their bed and breakfast property enchants you before you ever meet your hosts. Some of my best photographs of reflections on the water with fall colors were taken on Betty and Tony's property. Once you meet them, there is a connection. At least it was that way for us. We had access to many areas of their impressive home. There was a lovely living room which we used for tea and a den like area just for the guests. Downstairs there were other areas where you could read,write in journals or have an extra cup of tea or other beverage with homemade cookies. Breakfast was a complete joy!!! We were able to pick what we wanted from an extensive menu. Truly, we were spoiled and we loved it!!!

Karen, please forgive the delay in writing a response to your review. Betty and Tony certainly enjoyed your visit and thank you for your custom. Business is doing very well this year, with visitors for Saint Valentine's Day, while there is a steady stream of people who like to stay here following a concert at the local Casino at Rama, just round the corner.

“Felt welcome the second we walked through the door!”

My husband found this little gem on the internet. We had never stayed at a B&B before, so we were a little hesitant about staying here because we didn't know what to expect, but we wanted to try something new. We were definitely rewarded for our decision! The second we walked through the door, they greeted us and made us feel not just welcome, but like they were genuinely happy that we were there. Their home is sooo charming, I felt at peace immediately. The rooms are clean, the bed was so comfy, the grounds beautiful and Betty and Tony were wonderful! The breakfast was outstanding, the food and the company! There were two other couples staying at the inn when we were there, One from Canada, one from Austria, we are from America and Betty and Tony are originally from England so there we got to have breakfast with people from four different countries. Where else do you get to do that?! We had a fun and lively conversation, it was so enjoyable! I doubt that we will ever need to travel to Orillia again, but if we do we will definitely stay at Betty and Tony's again.

Your thoughtful review will certainly help other "Newbie" Bed and Breakfast guests feel inclined to test the B&B experience. It is very much appreciated that you added some photos of your visit.You were lucky that the first time you tried a B&B, we did have fun company that weekend and good times at breakfast. Also there was the added attraction of the Roger Hodgson performance at Casino Rama.. Our Austrians were exhausted after being out till 3 a.m., partying with the cast and crew. My wife and I have tried the other well known B&B's in Orillia, and we keep coming back to Betty and Tony's. They offer a friendly atmosphere and a wonderful breakfast. They never kept us waiting to check-in or check out. Very friendly... we'll keep them as our number 1 B&B when we are in the area for Casinorama!

People will take encouragement to visit our B&B from your plaudits, Mike, and we give you our grateful thanks, for taking the time to write up such a helpful report. It definitely does make a difference, when someone says they have been here before. We do enjoy visitors such as yourself and your good lady, and hope too see you again before too long!

Thank you Betty and Tony for the lovely stay at your bed and breakfast place in October 2011. It was the best night and bed during our nearly four weeks trip in Canada and USA. What a breakfast! Betty even helped to unload our pictures from the camera toa memory stick.

You have made us proud, T. & K., by your nice report on your visit to Betty and Tony's. You must have signed up with Tripadvisor, so thank you for taking the trouble.
You once taught me the Finnish for "Thank You", also "Congratulations", but I have forgotten. In any event, congratulations on a safe return to Helsinki, and have a fine winter skiing!
(I'm writing this in Venice, Florida.....you are welcome to visit here and see the sun again)

“Everything is done to make you feel welcomed!”

We think Betty and Tony are really outstanding in running a b&b! From the moment we received their warm welcome and until we left, they did everything they could to make our stay the best that it could be.They seem to have anticipated any possible need from providing information and extras that any traveller might require. They are great cooks and breakfast was beautifully presented! We very much enjoyed talking with them. We would have no hesitation in returning or recommending their home to friends. Their home is close to Casino Rama and the lovely town of Orillia. Betty and Tony really seem to enjoy their own lives and running a b&b!

Joan, your considerate review is much appreciated. It made us reflect on why we still run a B&B ( the money was essential in the early years). However, running Betty and Tony's has become a most rewarding interest. We have been enabled to upgrade our amenities to be sure; but we have also learned that the salesman's job is the most important one in the world; also we have had the continuing interest in operating our websites, especially the one that Betty runs; and while we were on the board of FOBBA, (the Ontario B&B group that represents innkeepers and sets their star ratings), we made excellent friends, and we have been to the Fire Marshall's Office and Queens Park on behalf of B&B owners. We are experimenting with Bookings.com and Facebook so the interest keeps on going. We have been in local travel associations and experimented with various package deals.
To top it off, we have the pleasure of receiving charming visitors like yourself! Life is sweet. We are happy to train newbie B&B operators. Thanks again, TONY
