Just returned from staying at the Tisdale house, a beautiful victorian build circa 1896. The house had been part of a local association charity Christmas tour that day so when we arrived not only was there 7 inches of fresh snow, but the house was decorated for a Victorian Christmas, as picture perfect as any magazine spread. Though picture perfect, the hosts Bob and Wendy made sure that we knew the this house was to be enjoyed and feet up on the luxurious sofas was a regular occurance. Our room the Queen Anne suite was wonderfully inviting with period pieces, a king sized bed, window alcove with Queen Anne chairs perfect for a nightcap or a quiet conversation with your partner. The entire house was tastely decorated with many beautiful pictures, antiques, dolls, teddy bears. The whole atmosphere was warm, inviting and homey, something from my grandmother's childhood, absolutely lovely. The breakfast in the morning was to die for, starting with coffee and orange juice with a fruit dish first. A split banana, filled with fresh fruit, topped with frozen yoghurt and sprinkling of crunchy granola of sorts. Next an egg dish wonderfully spiced with riced potatoes, asparagus, on a bed of spinach with a light sauce of some sort. Heavonly and took us through to dinnertime. We highly recommend this B&B, you will not be disappointed. Warm, inviting, homey, luxurious and extremely clean, I can't say enough. The hosts motto is "Arrive a Stranger, Leave a Friend", couldn't be more true. Wendy & Bob are wonderful hosts without being overbearing and are "gems" themselves. We will be definately returning!
