It all started on my second night when I went to have a shower. I closed the door to the bathroom while the room heated up a little and could not get back into the bathroom. The door was inoperable. After almost an hour it was decided that I change rooms, which I did. That's when the real problem started. I was in the room (thanks goodness) when the door opened and another guest walked in with his luggage. The front desk had given the same room I was in to another guest. I bring lots of electronic equipment with me when I travel and I count on the room being secure or at least more secure than leaving the gear in my truck. Needless to say when the hotel is giving my room to another guest security of my belongings doesn't seem to be important to the staff. What if I wan't in the room and this person took all of my equipment, would the hotel have covered it? I don't think so. It would have no sign of forced entry, so I would have been s.o.l. And how could I prove that this had happened. Of course the first time I left my room my key would work. When I asked for a new one at the front desk I was told to make sure that I din't put the key next to a cell phone as it could make it not work. Then I reminded the front desk clerk that it was her that changed the key not anything I had done. Clerk phoned me later in the room and told me something would be done about my hotel charge that night. The next morning when I checked out, it was only after I mentioned my horrible experience that the guest services manager gave me a 50% discount on the room. had I NOT mentioned this to her, would anything have been done, I doubt it. The front desk clerk could have at minimum left a note for the GSM. That way I might of had my bill under the door like I should have, and not have to go through the trouble of repeating my experience, something that made me mad again.
