I went to Lake City approximately 6 years ago and though it was on the older side it was clean and reasonably priced. Last weekend myself and 2 friends decided to take a little road trip so we booked a room at $99. I was embarrassed to have suggested the place. Though the exterior is very clean and well kept, the room was horrible! The very, very dirty light switch was my first clue as to the cleanliness standards. There were stains on the carpet, chairs, and towels. The room smelled like the most foul stale ashtray. We decided to ask for a refund and leave. After much negotiating and time wasting we were finally able to get our money back, but not before the clerk told us he was scared he would lose his job over it. It use to be such a nice place but I will never go back.

I booked Lake city Inn and suites during our recent travel to Vancouver. We drove from Seattle and reached there with my Family. It was around 10:00 PM and it was raining. My children were tired from the long journey. The guy at the front desk showed us the room. When we got in the room, the tiolet was clogged and I reported that to the front desk.

They Guy at the front desk came with a plunger and he was trying to unclog the toilet. After some time, he said that he cannot do it any more as it was clogging again and again. He told us to keep the plunger to unclog the toilet each time after we use it and he left.

I told him that my family is tired and I need another room. The guy's response was "I do not have another room, if you want to go to another hotel that is fine with me". I was stunned to see the rudeness and inhumane nature. I told him that I have small children and I cannot go looking for other hotels in an unfamilier place at night 10:30 PM.

Finally after some time the guy connected me to another hotel and fortunately they had rooms available. We finally checked in to Accent Inns, about 2 miles away from the place around 12:00 AM. Accent Inn was a bit more expensive, but was far far better than Lake city. My advise to families "Stay Far Away" from this place. It is not worth it.

My family and I have been guests at the Lake City Motor Inn/ Burnaby B.C. since 1976. Unfortunately the Motel has been on a steady decline for the past few years. On our recent stay almost the entire place was booked with young hockey players and their parents. We arrived back at the motel from dinner on Saturday May 31 to discover that the entire common area between units had been taken over by this group socializing and bar- b -q-ing etc. It was a bit of an obstacale course attempting to get to the pool.

We had 2 pre-schoolers in our group and it was difficult trying to get them to bed as there were young boys running up and down the back alleys yelling at one another. Partying went well past the 11:00 p.m. noise curfew. Earlier in the evening, I attempted to discuss the issue with the front desk staff and received a very negative response.

We were booked into a suite as we had daughters and grand children in our group. The suite was dirty and very run down. We asked on 3 separate occasions for a change of linen after the first nights stay for one of the bedrooms to no avail.

There is no complimentary in room coffee or complimentary continental breakfast as in most motels.

The rate we were charged for this suite was $174.00 + taxes which I believe is very expensive considering the condition and lack of services. As a result of the partying etc., we were given a $10.00 discount per night upon check out…big deal.

Suffice it to say we were totally put off by our experience on this stay at the Lake City Motor Inn and will not return.

was alone and went to motor inn and asked for a room for one. got the distinct impression that they charged me more than they should have. ($119.00 plus tax) they put in me a smoking room that smelled like an ashtray and I'm sure "Riverdance" was upstairs from me. had to move rooms - which they did but I wonder why they gave me such a terrible room to begin with
