“Just average, not good, not bad.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2010

We stay at this hotel once a year, and it does the job. We stay a couple nights usually, coming into town for business. We don't spend much time at the hotel, have never actually used the pool, or had the breakfast.
Beds are comfortable enough, rooms were a little tired/old in appearance but clean, shower had hot water, TV worked... all you could ask for really if all you need was a place to sleep for the night.

“the best stay ever in a Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2010

The hotel staff were friendly. The hotel rooms were very clean. The pool and hot tub were very clean and well maintained. We have stayed in hotels all over the world and this was by far the best. Thanks for making our holiday great.
The only thing that we could find fault with was that the staff that handled the breakfast items did not wear food service gloves.

I recently spent 6 nights in The Comaox Valley & split my stay between Courtnry & Campbell River. I stayed 3 nights at the Travellodge in Courtney and arranged to spend 3 nights at the Travelodge in Campbell River. The stay in Courtney was a pleasant experience, clean spacious room & friendly staff & excellent continental breakfast. I was expecting the same in Campbell River. I arrived in Campbell River and checked in aroung 10 PM. I had made the reservation approximately 1 month prior. When I checked in & went to te room it had not been made up & the desk clerk kindly apologized & made alternate arrangements to offer me a spaciouxs suite for the night and arranged to have my room ready for the next day and asked that I change rooms by 11 am. When I checked with the day clerk in the morning, July 15, a good friend that I had come to visit had arrived to pick me up as we were going to have lunch together. Without so much as a good morning let alone an apology for the inconvenience, the duty clerk informed me that housekeeping would be attending to my room and that it would be ready by 10AM. The clerk then raised a concern that I had another person staying in the room with me when she saw my friend, a very dignified lady and senior citizen, sitting in the lobby waiting for me. Needless to say we both felt humiliated and the clerkk offered no apology for her statements. I am a gentleman and also a senior citizen. That night I had to attend a meeting & arrived back at my room after 10 PM & had picked up some pastery for a light snack before bed. Unfortunately some crumbs fell on the carpet and would need the vacum cleaner. I left early the next morning for a day of sightseeing down the coast. I arrived back at the hotel later that evening to find that my pass card had been cancelled in error & another trip to the front desk was in order to clear this up. When I finally got into the room, the crumbs were still on the floor as the room had not been vacummed.

I am going to send a letter to the manger of this hotel to express my concers about the shoddy treatment that both my friend and I received from the particular desk clerk and the terrible housekeeping. Overall, the rest of the staff wre very pleasant and accomodating. The continental breakfast was not as good as the Travelodge in Courtney and the room was larger and less expensive in Courtney.

I am sorry that I did not spend all my vacation at the Travelodge in Courtney.

Economy at best. I stayed for two nights for a very good rate. As with the other reviews I found the place wore out and although likely clean, stained and in dire need of updating. The comforter was stained as was the tub and sink.

Most upsetting was the fact I could actually hear snoring from another room! The walls are very thin.

Location is good although across the busy highway from the ocean. Cross walks ate
closeby.

In general, you get what you pay for here.

“Just okay.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 April 2010

There were a ton of hotels along the water in Campbell RIver, including a fairly modern looking Best Western but since we had stayed at a Nice travelodge the night before in Parksville, the wife wanted to stay here. The main lobby was undergoing a rennovation at the time, so understandably was not in the best shape. The lady at the front desk was friendly and gave us a room with a nice view on the second floor. The room was clean, but a little dusty, and the bath tub was water stained from long use. The furnishings and T:V were old, but functional. I appreciated the fridge and microwave in the room and really enjoyed the old comfortable lazy boy. The indoor pool was typical of mosy hotels as it was barely 4 feet deep and about 15 feet long. The hot tub was large and very nice though. The continental breakfast was nothing to write home about some cereal a few muffins and coffee, and unfortunatly due to the construction nowhere to really sit except in a few chairs right by the construction. For $79 a night though, this place was okay.
