“A Wonderful and Relaxing Inn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 July 2007

We found the Alpine Meadows Lodge to be a delightful place to stay for our visit to the Canadian Rockies. The inn was very convenient to Yoho, Glacier, and Mt Revelstoke national parks. The inn is remotely located at the top of a hill at the end of a dirt and gravel road and overlooks the Columbia river wetlands. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The owner and his wife were very pleasant to us. We learned much about the local area from them and had many good discussions about a range of topics. We would definitely stay there again.

“Not worth the drive up the hill”

Beware. This lodge overlooks a rail yard and you will get no sleep with the slamming together of trains, whistles, bells, etc. all thru the night. The innkeeper's wife is absolutely weird and followed us around turning off lights, closing windows etc. The rooms are small, the pillows are flat, the bed is hard and this place is only recommended for those enjoying going up a 4 KM gravel and dirt road to the most unhospitable place on earth. We couldn't wait to leave. Absolute worse place we stayed on our 2 week vacation.

“A wonderful getaway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 February 2006

The secluded entrance to the bed and breakfast is the perfect transition from the everyday world to this mountain escape. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the inn keepers respected our need for peace and quite. We found the lodge to be beautifully constructed from local timber and well kept. The library in the great room is full of texts on local history and is a wonderful treat to fully emerse oneself in the surroundings. After a full day of skiing, we found that the hot tub is practically pearched over a cliff that looks out over the source of the Columbia River. A breath-taking view to wash away any stress. There were hiking trails all over the property to explore. Overall, a very special experience.

“Beautiful lodge with so-so service”

Stayed for two nights at this lodge located at the end of 3.5km of a well-maintained gravel-road. One would expect the isolated location in the woods should make for a quiet stay, trains could be heard during the night. The building is very nice, however rooms are not sound-proof. Free Wireless LAN service was available. The welcome by the owner was very friendly and we got good restaurant suggestions. The owners wife however seems to be in the wrong profession: she happily admits that she hates getting up in the morning cooking breakfast for the guest and it shows. Overall a mixed experience.

“alpine meadows lodge..beautiful lodge but....”

We along with 7 other friends (all in our 40's or older) stayed at this b&b last October. Is a beautiful lodge but unfortunatly the woman who runs it along with her husband needs maybe to take a hospitality course? It seemed that after we got there and settled in she didnt want us there. we were not loud nor did we drink alot but she was not happy with anything we did. we left the empty bottles in the wrong place,(we put them in a box by the cupboard ) we touched the stereo (even though her husband said we could) . One of the couples asked for an extra blanket and was told to turn up the heat in the bathroom instead. it was various little things that made us all feel very unwelcome and almost like you were staying at your rich mother in laws for the weekend.. we would never ever stay there again .. i dont need to spend that kind of money for the weekend and then not able to relax for fear we would do something wrong.
