“A Great B&B with an amazingly comfortable bed!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2010

We booked the Mountain View room at the B&B months in advance based on the great reviews from Trip Advisor. All I can say is, it's a shame we were only here for one night. The B&B is situated approx 20Km's from Hope and 70Km's from the Manning Park Resort. We were travelling West on Highway 3 towards Vancouver so were recommended by Tony & Joyce to stop in the Manning Park Resort or head in to Hope to grab an evening meal. We stopped at the Manning Park resort and then had a 40min drive to the B&B.

Tony and Joyce were very welcoming and we sat and had a nice cup of tea with them on arrival and helped them commiserate the Dutch football team losing the World Cup! The Mountain View room was very spacious, bright and had an en-suite bathroom. The toilet was a little strange in that it only had a low partition wall separating it from the room, but I believe the room has now been renovated and updated to separate it. This wasn't anything that caused us any issues.

The room had a number of tourist information leaflets in it which were useful to browse through, and there was a hair drier, bath robes and slippers available!

The one thing that cropped up in a few Trip Advisor posts about this B&B was how comfortable the Bed was....what everyone says is correct, this was probably the most comfortable bed we slept in during our 3 week stay in Canada! Our previous night had been in a motel in Grand Forks, and the bed just about broke my back. This bed fixed it!!

In the morning of our departure Tony & Joyce cooked up a fantastic cooked breakfast, as well as serving some home made muffins! A great talking point at breakfast was the slide show of amazing pictures on the computer that people had taken, to which I have now added some of our holiday photos!

It would have been nice to have stayed here longer than one night as there was more we could have seen in the area had we had a little more time. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and would certainly go back if we are ever in the area again.

“Wonderful hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2010

It is obvious that Joyce and Tony take great pride and enjoyment in what they do. They have a lovely home and very comfortable rooms.

The breakfast was beautiful, everything being home made.

When we left the next morning we felt like we were leaving old friends behind.

“A friendly and welcoming stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2010

Joyce and Toni gave us a warm welcome, with coffee, tea and cookies in their own livingroom. We had two bedrooms, one for us and one for our son and a very nice bathroom. We got everything we needed, including free internet ;-). It was all very clean and fresh.
The homemade breakfast was exellent and tastefull. They gave us a lot of good tips for our travel in Manning Park.
We can truely recommend this B&B.

“A pleasant stopping-off point for one night.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 July 2010

We stayed here for one night in May 2010 en route from Vancouver to Vernon. Mountainview B&B was easy to find, located just outside Hope in Sunshine Valley. Sunshine Valley itself has no amenities but it is a quiet and pleasant location just off the highway and just over 2 hours outside Vancouver, which made it an ideal location for our first night in Canada.

Mountainview B&B was very clean, the bed was very comfy, and the owners were very friendly (though we were a little uncomfortable with them sitting with us throughout breakfast as we were the only guests and we felt compelled to make small talk). Perhaps this was because we were jet-lagged! The breakfast was, however, delicious and very substantial, with fresh fruit, a croissant bake, muffins, and toast.

We stayed in the Cedar Room. Although we had booked the Silver Daisy Room, they offered us this larger room for the same price as there were no other guests. It was perfectly pleasant but perhaps a bit chintzy for our tastes. The bathroom was not en-suite but right next door, and we had sole use of it. Again, very clean, but the bath plug didn't work!

In summary, a good stopping-off point for one night.

“A fabulous birthday surprise at a wonderful B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2009

My wife and I had been traveling in the rockies for over a week staying mainly at B&Bs. All were good but Mountainview was certainly the best. On our arrival Joyce and Tony greeted me warmly with a very unexpected 'Happy Birthday". Unbeknown to us, our son had contacted Tony and arranged for a fabulous bottle of local wine to be there when we arrived as a birthday gift. It was set out for us in our room along with two wine glasses and a beautiful card that Joyce had organised. I can't imagine many B&B hosts would go to the same trouble and so enthusiatically embrace the spirit of the occasion. It was greatly appreciated.
As well as the superb hospitality from warm, cheerful and informative hosts, our room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean, the bed was super-comfortable and the breakfast just wonderful. We would recommend this B&B unreservedly.
