The bar and restaurant gave me high hopes for the rooms at the New Grand, but I was quickly disappointed. The facelift that has begun downstairs needs to migrate upstairs where the rooms are ancient and sterile. I understand the hotel is old, but give the poor gal some jazz. She just needs a splash of paint and someone who knows decor outside of gaudy, gold framed plant paintings. All in all it was comfortable and did the trick, but nothing to brag on.
