The reception was warm and welcoming and the in-house meals great! But there was poor lighting in my room, so that I couldn't read. The radiator in my room didn't work and maybe that was a blessing because I was warm enough without it...but to allow a work crew to do maintenance on the roof with compressors (night of Dec. 6/2011) and taking apart kitchen fans, scraping and pressure washing at 4:30 until gone 7am made it impossible to sleep. I was going to stay another week, but will now look elsewhere.

The New Grand Hotel is well located in Nelson ... walking distance to everything. We stayed here for 5 days during the BC Seniors' Games. The room was basic ... but clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

We stayed overnight on a trip to Nelson. The hotel is clean and in the center of town. It's nothing fancy but the rooms are clean and staff is friendly and helpful. We love the town of Nelson. The people are fantastic, friendly and you can find organic food everywhere. It is one of our favorite BC towns.

Great stay. Staff was very friendly. Our room was simple, clean and comfortable. Great value and our dog was welcome. The ajoining lounge and restaurant were excellent. I will stay here again!
