“Spacious, with all the required facilities”

It was great to stay in accommodation that had a lounge area and separate bedroom. The facilities often missing in other accommodations were all there, including fridge, microwave, kettle, crockery and cutlery. We also made use of the excellent BBQ located on the verandah close to the room. The bed was very comfortable, and room was clean. The location was perhaps a little inconvenient, being 6 miles from Nelson, but it was very pretty and quiet.
Shaun, the manager, also gave us free passes to the hot springs, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

“Just Perfect - Clean, quiet, friendly and Pet friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2011

Cons: Bed might be due to be replaced; getting saggy in the middle

Pros: Very clean and quiet. This place wins for the best shower insert I have ever seen in a hotel. Finally, a place for women to put their fifty million toiletries and washcloths. It was filled with all shorts of nooks and crannies. Much appreciated! The shower head worked very well. Counter space in the bathroom was adequate as well.

I enjoyed the detailed guest guide. Lots of good info about the area. I especially appreciated the part in the rules about no smoking so close to the suites. No one likes to have smoke flood into their room when you open the door or window.

I liked how I was told the grand total when I booked the room. Tax and everything. Check in and check out was easy.

Nice view of the lake. There were adirondack chairs on the lawn and other covered viewing areas up above.

The parking spaces were ample.

The breakfast was above average. We liked the omelet maker and homemade bran muffins.

I would stay here again and highly recommend it. Stayed at Copper Point Resort in Invermere the night before. It was double the price for A LOT LESS. Liked Kokanee Glacier Resort MUCH better.

“Excellent place for a night or a week”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2011

I'm really surprised at the critique that gave this a 1 saying it was poor value. They should try and book a place in the Okanagan valley anywhere on the water, or with a view. One the water is a minimum of $200+ per night I also quibble with the review that said that the beds were not comfortable. We found the beds comfortable, including the futon for our girls. The rooms were clean and well maintained. One small quibble - a bit more kitchen equipment would be good, it was a bit short on cutlery, plates and glasses. There were four sets, but it's nice to be able to have some extras. beautiful view, places outside to sit and appreciate the view. The beach access was indeed across the road, but very easy to get to, and a nice sandy, very quiet little beach with excellent swimming. Nelson is minutes away. There's a grocery story/liqour store just around the corner, and a pub with quite decent food a block away. We may go back for a week next year, it was that nice.

We just stumbled on the resort as we were driving to Nelson looking for a place to stay the night. It was so agreeable, at such a good price, we stayed an extra night. There is extraordinary hiking and excellent hot springs just up the road, the great town of Nelson, and a beach. What more do you want, at a great price.

“This was a wonderful experience”

My friend and i had to find a place in a pinch when we were camping over the July 1st weekend, bears had come into our camping area and were ransacking the tents. we arrived late at night and Sean welcomed us warmly. He fund us a room and was most gracious in making sure everything was in good order. The only problem came when we pulled down the futon and the bed wouldn't stay level There was no other room so we managed with it as it was. I feel confident in the pride in their establishment that this matter was seen to quickly.

Breakfast the next morning in the sunflower room was delightful. All our needs were attended to and it was a delicious breakfast with many choices. The serving area, kitchen and dining area were spotlessly clean.

The funniest thing was that they had ball caps with a picture of a cinnamon bear embroidered on the front I bought one and can now point to the logo and say " This is where we stayed & this is why"

I would recommend the Kokanee Glacier resrt to anyone travelling in that area of BC

“We loved it and will definitely return.”

My husband and I (and our dog) were warmly welcomed and made to feel quite at home. The kitchen suite was bright, spacious, clean, and did not look worn and tired as so many lodgings do. Suite rental included complimentary coffee in our room and a yummy continental breakfast in the dining room. There were plenty of grassy areas, with seating, for all three of us to relax with choices of shade or open sun and even a gas BBQ available to guests. A short walk across the road brings you to steps leading down to a public access beach area. The resort is about an 8 min. drive from the city centre of Nelson, which makes it very peaceful. It overlooks the lake, and provides a lovely view of Nelson lit-up after sunset. The added bonus was no mosquitoes while we enjoyed the evening sitting outside. Even our dog was more relaxed there than any other place we stayed at. Our next visit will be for a week!
