This Inn does have a lovely garden and view. There is a fabulous walk along the straight facing the gulf islands right across the street from the Inn. Gardens are lovely. Our room was small, had an old fashioned TV, and had an older but comfortable bed. There were two comfortable chairs to lounge in. There was a coffee pot but there are no freebies in this inn. The soap and shampoo dispenser are attached to the wall. No shower caps, body creams etc. There is no AC. A fan is provided. Desk staff was helpful and there to help if there are any problems. The room and bathroom were clean but I feel it is overpriced for what you get. To me, I believe you are paying for the view and gardens.

Room tip: We didn't specify that we wanted a ground floor so we were on the second floor. I have problems with stairs and would have asked for a ground floor if I had known there was a second level.

We stayed in a one bedroom cabin because we had pets. I have never stayed in a log cabin and found the experience oppressive. All the dark wood, together with dark curtains and dark furnture had me exhausted. The price was extremely high considering the furniture and carpeting was old and worn. The bed was comfortable and a king, so we had a good nights sleep. But overall, it was not a space that I wanted to stay in for more than just sleeping. Pet owners pay a premium which is fine but I believe that that premium should go to upgrading the unit. I would not stay there again unless the price was significantly reduced.

Booked on our way there via Hotels.com as it was one of the better rates we could find for a sleepover in Sidney. Lovely spot! Great view of the water, and incredibly well kept grounds. The center of the property cul du sac is beautifully kept, with lots of lawn seating and a bbq for guest to relax and enjoy their time there. We were offered our choice of main or second floor rooms by the front desk staff. Our main level standard room had two very comfortable chairs for relaxing. Nothing new or fancy about any if the furnishings, but it was well equipped for a comfortable stay. Room was clean and bed was older, but still very comfortable. Good value for the price paid, and a great place to go and watch the sunrise over the water.

We arrived late and tired and without a reservation. After travelling all day, we pulled into the first motel we found. Lucky for us, they had one room left. I wished my husband had asked to look at the room beforehand. It was dark, with woodpanelling and the bedspreads were circa 1960. The bathroom had shampoo and soap dispensers on the walls. The mattresses were not comfortable. It looked clean but had an old smell. Would not stay there again as the price was higher than warranted. But, the location was wonderful. We had one window that looked out onto a garden, complete with tables, chairs and a BBQ. In the morning I wandered across the highway to a beautiful beachwalk, clean and well-kept with benches for relaxing. The view from the beach was amazing. The town of Sidney is lovely and only a short walk from the motel.
An Interesting and lively community. I'd look for something else next time because of the price; have stayed in nicer places for much less.

Room tip: Ask to view the room first; there may be nicer, better appointed rooms.

......while waiting for the ferry (which had been cancelled previous day). Had a cabin facing the beautiful gardens which contained a gas grill for cooking. Joined some friendly tourists having a cookout and playing beanbag. Cabin was clean, roomy and well-equipped. Walked into town and bought food which we cooked on the gas grill and ate while watching the sun set over the water. Not inexpensive but worth what they charged for the cabin. Staff was friendly and accommodating

Room tip: Victoria bus #72 stops in front of motel. Easy walk to the ferry terminal with one rolling suitcase and a backpack
