“Wonderful Stay in B.C.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

We thoroughly enjoyed our one bedroom suite in Squamish, especially the breakfast/lunch/dinner area and the fantastic view. The drive up from Vancouver was also wonderful. Our room was very clean with a kitchen and everything that we needed. Furthermore, the service was great. One of our bags didn't make it and the hotel kept it for us as soon as it did arrive, as we were out enjoying the area and Whistler. It was great to be away from the cross, yet be close to the water and 45 minutes to Whistler.

Room Tip: Rooms on the top floor and facing the back are the quietest and have the best view!

1) we checked in and the linen delivery was late -so all guests had to wait to use the rooms (2) we were given our room key and went up to the room. Upon opening it up and searching for lights we came across a man half naked with a towel around his privates coming out of the bedroom in the most compromised of situations saying "we're checked in here". My 15 yr. old was subject to seeing this half naked man. Thank goodness it was darkish. We went back down to check in and explained the predicament. They were very apologetic. Gave us an upgraded room. (3)We went to the upgraded room and the lights didn't work; Maintenance came up, sparked the breaker and the manager saw the lights go on. "just leave it" he says - and we worried about fire in the hotel; the maintenance guy then went to turn the gas fire on and the facing of the fire came right off the wall; (4) we were given free breakfast at the buffet the next am - it was cold other than delicious omelets that they were making. (5) the heated indoor/outdoor pool was broken - no heat - it was literally almost freezing.. Kids couldn't swim. The only good thing is that the back of the hotel looks out on a lovely view; the beds were comfortable and it is a short drive to Whistler. Manager was very accomodating and apologetic but my goodness - what a calamity of errors and a problem with security of rooms as far as I was concerned... They said it was an error between housekeeping not advising front desk that someone didn't check out - but that interruption of the poor guy in that suite was not okay on any level. He could have thought we were intruders and it could have gone so wrong. We were lucky he had a level head. The original room that we went into was supposed to have been a mountain view and it was not - we didn't stay in it anyway.

“Good quality suites”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2011

Stayed just 1 night as part of a Western canada tour in September 2011. Used this hotel as a base on the way down the Sea to Sky highway enroute to Horseshoe Bay (45 mins) for the ferry over to Nanaimo on the Island. Good quality fixtures & fittings - paid for a suite with view but just a balcony overlooking what looked like a disused golf course. Didn't eat here so can't comment on the on-site restaurant. Located some way out of town - not walking distance. Good choice for an overnight stopover.

“Luxury you can afford!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2011

These suites were part of a luxury golf resort but the golf course is no longer functioning - however it makes for a pleasant "park" area now and the accommodation itself is top class.
The suite was furnished as a luxury apartment, with all mod cons, to be totally self catering, even including washing machine and tumble drier! Superb views from the generous balcony and ideally located for the town of Squamish, which in my opinion is light years better than the brash, touristy Whistler. The restaurant is excellent with an outside patio overlooking the golf course/park (try the unbelievable Mojuitos) and the staff are all very friendly and helpful.
Be sure to visit the Howe Sound brewery/bar/restaurant/hotel while you're there.
