“Better Rooms Than Expected...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 February 2009

However, staff could use an attitude adjustment.

I traveled with my dog to this hotel, the room was very decent for what I was expecting. I travel for business a lot and don't like staying in small towns without 4 or 5 star hotels. But the cleanliness and comfort of this room went beyond my expectations. The bathroom had very nice marble counter top, and tiles on the floor, and the bathtub had jets. Completely spotless, the house keepers do an incredible job! Also, there was a fridge and microwave...nice bonus! Wireless internet was free so I could finish some work up, but I had some problems getting connected and had to call the 1800 number to resolve the issue. It was taken care of though.

My only complaint would be the staff at the front desk, two different women upon check in and out, and they both had a bit of a snobby attitude. I didn't have any serious issues, and my dog was happy too :) so all in all, I'd probably go back.

“Extremely nice hotel at a cheap price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2008

We stayed at Travelodge Chatham in April 2007 while we were on our way from Quebec to Texas.

I loved this hotel. It is extremely nice, clean and well-decorated. We felt like it was luxury and it costed only about 100$ plus tax.

I loved the room. The hot breakfast was excellent. There were pancakes, eggs, sausages, cereals, toast, orange juice, coffee. There is also a Tim Horton nearby.

I definetely recommend it.

“Never Again”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 May 2008

Don't get me wrong -- the hotel itself and the room were alright -- but the front-desk clerk was miserable. When I walked in and asked if there were any rooms available, she said no -- an obvious lie considering the lack of cars in the parking lot. Maybe it was the way I looked -- I'd just been crying and didn't look so hot. Plus I look younger than I am (25) and judging by her attitude, I think she thought that I intended to party or trash the room. Anyway, I basically had to convince her to let me stay there. And I actually did, because it was the cheaper of the 2 motels in the area. Her lack of professionalism definately soured the experience. I think it's time for her to retire.

  • Liked — the front-desk clerk did allow me to borrow her toilet plunger
  • Disliked — front-desk clerk's attitude

“Up to the Travelodge Standard”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2008

Once again I am on the road for business.
I look for comfort, quiet and a reasonable breakfast with a local news paper to read.
Travelodge Chatham had all those things plus pleasant helpful staff.
Travelodge has become my travel hotel of choice for value and consistent quality of service.
Not an amazing holiday spot but a real nice choice for the tired business traveler. When I travel for pleasure if a Travelodge is on route I would happily pick it as stop along the way.
