“Seek other options in Chatham”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2011

We recently stayed at this hotel with another couple as we were visiting the Chatham area for a wedding. All we generally expected were a clean hotel room and decent beds however these two expectations went amiss with our experience. Our non-smoking room had an overpowering smell of stale smoke. Although all rooms are to be non-smoking it would appear that the hotel may allow guests to violate these rules and furthermore the room wasn't cleaned properly to mask or clear the smell.
Additionally the rooms come only with one pillow (if there are two to a bed). There are no spare pillows in the closet nor an extra blanket.
Improvement could also be had at the front service desk. We were waiting for several minutes before a representative approached the desk and the employee was far from friendly,

“Very nice...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2011

I stayed at the hotel for the dog show. They accepted me and my dogs with open arms. They even put us near the door at the end of the hall way so I didn't have to go far to potty them. There were plenty of trash receptacles for the poo bags. The breakfast was very nice too! They move folks along quickly, there wasn't a long line up. The room was nice too! The beds were comfortable and all the amenities in the room worked very well. I'll stay there for the next show in Chatham.

Decent hotel for the money. No issues with our stay. Hot buffet breakfast in the morning, and quiet, clean rooms.

“Better Rooms Than Expected...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 February 2009

However, staff could use an attitude adjustment.

I traveled with my dog to this hotel, the room was very decent for what I was expecting. I travel for business a lot and don't like staying in small towns without 4 or 5 star hotels. But the cleanliness and comfort of this room went beyond my expectations. The bathroom had very nice marble counter top, and tiles on the floor, and the bathtub had jets. Completely spotless, the house keepers do an incredible job! Also, there was a fridge and microwave...nice bonus! Wireless internet was free so I could finish some work up, but I had some problems getting connected and had to call the 1800 number to resolve the issue. It was taken care of though.

My only complaint would be the staff at the front desk, two different women upon check in and out, and they both had a bit of a snobby attitude. I didn't have any serious issues, and my dog was happy too :) so all in all, I'd probably go back.
