I stayed here with my teenage son and his two friends, on 2 occasions. Once on Canada Day weekend and a second time in early September for downhil bike racing. We were interested because of the cost of the room ($110) for 2 double beds, ground floor accomodations and the closeness to Blue Mountain. Obviously, coming back a second time meant that our first experience was a good one. The hotel is dated but having been designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, meant that changes for the good, such as central air and replacing defects in the wood panelling would alter it's character and heritage. The owners do a credible job of keeping what is there, clean and tidy. It is located across the road from the local YMCA and water tower which make it easy to find in a strange town and without a GPS. A 20 minute drive to Blue Mountain,10 minute walk to downtown and 15- 20 minute walk to the harbour. As correctly stated in other reviews the morning breakfast is ample and nourishing. What more do you need? The clerk even allowed us to keep our expensive bicycles in the room at night. More to ease our paranoia than because of the area. We plan on returning again in 2012.
