“Homely heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

My boyfriend and I stayed at Bacchus House this weekend and it was quite simply wonderful. The home itself has been beautifully renovated keeping all the small historic details but with a few modern comforts hidden away. Annette is the perfect hostess - always willing to offer advice and chat, yet never pushy or overtly present.

We stayed in the Cabernet Sauvignon Suite - incredibly comfortable, warm and cozy. The traditional bathtub sealed the deal for me on this room and it was the perfect soaker after a day out in the cold. The room was super quiet, you hardly heard anything from the street, and the bed extremely comfortable. Breakfast was a huge treat, great quality and very generous quantity - we didn't eat for the rest of the day!

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Bacchus House to anyone - regardless of age or disposition!

“Victorian Beauty”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2011

A lovely historic home tastefully restored with a "wine" theme. Rooms are beautifully furnished with comfortable mattresses, luxurious linens and high end products. Our room also came with a bottle of Perrier and a few bottles of water, a nice touch. We chose the Chardonnay room, which had a jacuzzi bath as well as a little sitting area in front of an electric fireplace. There is a big selection of DVDs, if you care to spend a lazy afternoon. Room was clean and the area is quiet. Breakfast is customized to your taste, and Annette is an excellent chef. Bacchus house is located within walking distance of downtown Collingwood. Annette is very helpful and thoughtful. I would not hesitate to recommend staying here, you will be enchanted with this lovely Victorian home.

“My guests were wowed!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2011

I had celebrity guests coming from out of town and I wanted something really special. I spoke to Annette and toured Bacchus House B & B and knew instantly that it had all the wow factor I was looking for. My husband and I stayed overnight to visit longer with our guests and we joined them for breakfast. My husband is not into the whole Heavenly Bed thing the way I am, but he can't stop talking about our bed in the Cabernet room. The minute we were tucked up into the comforter and pillows he was out like a light. That never happens when we travel. We had the best night's rest away from home in years. Breakfast allowed lots of choice and was everything we expected from Annette--the hostess extraordinaire!
The boardroom is a great amenity and Andy & Annette's future plans for catered dinners will allow me to have as many guests for dinner as I want, with all the privacy of our own home (plus fabulous decor!). If I have a corporate event to organize, Bacchus House has everything I look for--walk to downtown, and all the privacy and luxury you want for combining work with pleasure.
If there was a six-star rating available, Bacchus House B & B would deserve it. Very reasonable rates and not a single detail forgotten. It just doesn't get any better.

Room Tip: There are simply no bad rooms but if you want the "suite" experience, choose the Chardonna...

“Versace Robes in the room, better than heavenly bed - need I say more?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2011

I have stayed in hotels and around the world - and I really appreciate a great bed, privacy, delicious food, central location and being hosted by knowledgeable and gracious people. This has that all - not an easy task for a B & B - I suppose that is how they rate 5 stars. Coming up from the US the Collingwood area and Bacchus house were both a wonderful surprise for me! If you can get a reservation here go for it!

Room Tip: There are great pictures on the website!

“Very Nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2011

Highly recommended. We stayed overnight on a Wednesday and were the only guests at the time (weekends during summer and winter ski season are fully booked months in advance). Annette is a great host and offered suggestions for regional activities and great restaurants in walking distance from the B&B.
Good B&B's like this one are a real step up from the typical hotel experience.
