My partner took me to the Inn for my birthday on a Saturday night 2 yrs ago. He booked the package with the dinner and we very much enjoyed the experience. From eating at a communal table, to being able to bring our wine and the food was delicious.

We booked at anther B&B in the same area this past weekend and decided to see if they had room for dinner and were delighted they did.
We were so disappointed with the quality and taste of the food this time that I decided to call the owner Stephanie and the reaction that came from her was not what I expected. She basically said it was impossible as they never have complaints and that I should speak with the Chef. I told her that is not going to do me good as she is the owner and wanted to be compensated in some way. She was very hard to speak with as she was so argumentative and rude so i decided to leave it and write this review.
If it was a $60.00 meal i would never take the time to write up this review but think anybody that considers dinner there should think twice as it was a $160.00 . It hurts spending that kind of money when the meal was horrible -thank goodness the company at the table was entertaining.

This Inn doesn't quite qualify in the "Finest Inns" category. Almost, but not quite.
Lovely beds, fireplaces, excellent location. Great that you can BYOB and the sweet tea time was nice,
The decor is kitchy, the renovations DIY, which is too bad, because the charm of the old house gets a little lost. There were uncovered gas lines (for the fireplace) in the closet, which seemed unsafe.
The service is amateur (and a 15% gratuity is added to the price, so you expect better). The servers need some training (carried in glasses by clasping the inside of the glasses) and bonked people on the head when carrying trays. We could overhear their conversations in the kitchen about the juice and baked goods being bought from Loblaws.
Don't buy in-house dinners. The menu sounds great, but the cooking isn't. The food tasted like it was cooked by a beginner cook.
Soundproofing is poor.

I tried to book a visit with my partner - the cost structure for the package as it is communicated on-line is completely misleading compared to what is actually offered. When I questioned the owner as to what the package would include, she became angered that I should question her...plus they require full payment upon the reservation - they allow for no refunds in the event that you have to cancel, only a credit note for a year. Based upon how I was treated - the hostility and anger this woman exhibited - I don't recommend this place - least of all as a peaceful retreat!

I think the Inn's website gives a pretty good idea of what to expect. The staff were all friendly and helpful, the food was very tasty and nicely presented, the spa services were good. The Inn would appeal to people who like a cozy, cluttered, eclectic environment.
