“Heavenly!”

This beautiful guest house is literally on the shores of Fairy Bay. We had a fabulous relaxing week with friendly, helpful hosts who gave us great tips on what to do/ where to eat/best cakes shops!! Great location for visiting Algonquin Park and lots to do locally. There is a little kitchen where you can russle up a quick dinner or Marc will light the BBQ for you. Best bit is 8am fresh coffeee while standing on the shore watching the mist rise over the water then another wonderful breakfast with the open fire crackling away. Can't wait to go back...and we're from Scotland!!

“A terrific value for money find”

Located in a small, quiet road off the main highway, Fairy Bay guesthouse is on a fantastic spot. Marc and Margaret are extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful, without being in your face all the time. They were happy for us to do our laundry, we had access to a kitchenette with tea, coffee, cold drinks and crockery and cutlery. We were also offered the bbq's, which we took advantage of, as having two children, a restaurant can be a bit trying sometimes. The room (Cream) was very tastefully decorated, roomy and spotlessly clean. The beach was fab (and a bit of a rarity we discovered). We used the canoes and pedal boat. The children had fun with the toy trucks on the beach and inflatables. The breakfasts were excellent. We even took home Margaret's pancake recipe. We enjoyed our stay here so much, we returned for another night. This, in my opinion offers so much more than the Delta Resort across the water and probably for a fraction of the cost. I cannot recommend Fairy Bay Guesthouse highly enough.

“If you are looking for a nice place near Huntsville, on the way to Algonquin Park”

This guest house is not your typical B&B. It reminds us of the small local hotels that you find in Europe. The rooms are very clean, spacious and private. There are two guest sitting areas, one upstairs and one large living/breakfast room looking out at Fairy Lake and the Delta Grandview resort across the lake. Even though it is only about 2 minutes off of Hwy 60 on the road to Deerhurst Resort, It's tucked away in a lovely corner of the lake surrounded by privately owned cottages. Outside the back door an expansive lawn stretches towards a safe, sandy beach. The breakast was delicious and sharing a table with some of the other guests encouraged lively conversations. The place was very quiet, especially in the evening hours.

I've read all of the other reviews and even though they are a few years old, they're pretty much spot on.

“Quiant and classy. A real gem and joyful spot!”

I booked this B&B last minute on the long weekend not knowing what to expect other than a few reviews on trip advisor. We were very satisfied - no complaints!! Mark and Margaret who run the place are super kind and attentive. It wasn't crowded and they have a private beach by the lake. It's very quiet and romantic. We stayed in the wine room which has a king size bed and a jacuzzi which we took advantage of.

The breakfasts were good and I think the best part is that it feels like you own your own $1M cottage! It's not overcrowded like the neighboring resorts.

Here are some of the other things we did:

- read books in muskoka chairs by the water
- relaxed on a swing (in the trees)
- slept in
- went canoing
- bonfire at night with smores
- hiking in algonquin (they gave us a parking pass for free)
- enjoyed the great huntsville restuarants (3 guys and stove was the best)

“Wonderful Guest House and More”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2009

We found this wonderful B&B in a Canadian B&B book. Lucky us. The house is modern, built to be a guest house. Rooms are large and comfy. Mark and Margaret are outgoing hosts. Guests enjoy complimentary use of kayak, paddleboat, canoes (including one with electric motor), row boat with 5 hp outboard, and fishing rods. Our youngest son pulled three fish out of the lake in no time one morning. We saw a loon in the bay. Mark was very helpful in setting us up with the watercraft and fishing. We also enjoyed just sitting in the Adirondack chairs on the dock and the lawn near the sandy beach. Mark also built a fire in the pit one night. Margaret's breakfasts were plentiful and tasty. Guests can also make use of a limited guest kitchen (no stove) and two gas barbecues on the lawn, but we didn't cook. Mark was a great source of information about what to do and where to do it in the area, including Algonquin Provincial Park, less than a half-hour's drive away, where we went on a "Wolf Howl" -- a unique experience. The house is on a small bay of Fairy Lake. Though it's far away, we hope to return some day!
