“Good for a Winter snowmobile Weekend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

This Hotel is great if your heading up north for a weekend sled trip. It is literally right on the trails which is extremely advantageous. It provides a good place to crash for the money. It's clean and the beds are decent which Is key after a long day of riding. Breakfast is fairly simple. Just some cereal and muffins etc. Your probably better off running into town and filling up if you have a long day ahead of you. No matter what, Huntsville is a great place, and as long as your enjoying nature it's not super critical where you lay your head at night.

“Clean, but over priced and bare bones”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

Let me start off by saying the hotel is clean, and basic, basic, basic. However, the price of the hotel does not reflect this - way over priced for the "ammenities" provided.

We stayed here overnight for a family get together this weekend.

The check in was quick and easy, and the Manager, Tony, was helpful in letting us have rooms close to one another... a simple task as we were the only ones there!

The rooms are... bare. Very bare. We had the "junior suite", which isn't a term that should ever be applied to any of the rooms in the hotel. The room was massive, which was nice, but didn't have much else going for it. It looks as if it has not been painted in years, and was a horrible mint green colour. The room does have a microwave and fridge, which was nice, and would be good for longer stays, I guess.

The bathroom was small, but very clean and functional. Probably one of the cleanest hotel bathrooms I've seen, to be honest.

One of my cousins went down to see if someone could offer a recommendation of a bar or restaurant to go to that evening. I suppose because its the off season, the manager is the only one working there, as he apparently stumbled out of the back room in an undershirt and boxer shorts rubbing sleep from his eyes when he heard the bells attached to the outside of the door leading to the stairway. One thing to keep in mind is that there is nothing close by (walking distance) as the hotel is on the outskirts of town, close to highway 11. In the summer it would be a long, but lovely walk. In January, not so lovely.

In short, had the room been about half of what we paid, we would probably stay again. For the cost of the room, we'll be staying at one of the newer hotels on the other side of town.

“Clean, and they take pets”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

Our initial reservation was botched (we'd booked two nights, they had us down for one, at a rate that was not a pleasant surprise), however the terms we'd been given on the phone were honoured after only minimal argument. The property is very basic, and in a relatively charm-free location (right off Highway 11, across the road from a do-it-yourself car wash); the promised BBQ facilities (on a grassy patch out back) were in no way inviting, though we did see staff using them. Aside from an ice machine, free parking, one internet-equipped lobby computer and a surprisingly good continental breakfast, the propane grill really is the only amenity at this property. On the up side, our room was spotlessly-clean and our dog was welcome (for a reasonable surcharge). To quote my husband, when I suggested we book this hotel: "I have a surprisingly high toleraance for cheap motels, as long as they're cheap."

“Honest Review of Huntsville travelodge”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2011

I would have to say I was"nt overly impressed with this place, Iam glad I did not pay full price as I got a deal through Steal a Deal for $65 for one night, when we first got there there was nobody at the front desk there was a young child who told us that the person behind the desk had to step out for a while, it was not a big problem, we went for something to eat and on our return Tony the manager of the place checked us in
He was not overly friendly he barely said two words to us

The room was ok it was clean the air conditioning worked great as it was very hot that weekend you had control of the air conditioning which made it more pleasant
The one problem in the room I did notice was mold on one of the cieling tiles indicating a small water leak in the ceiling

We went in the morning for the continental breakfast which I found was not the greatest,
some of the breakfast choices where not the freshest and there was a buzzer to notify if someone was at the front desk was a sensor of some kind but every time you moved it would go off which became anoying after while

Would I go back not very likely

“UGLY”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 July 2011

I am almost sorry to write this as the guy that runs the hotel was sort of helpful. Not exactly the best at customer service but somehow I felt sorry for the whole operation. This is without a doubt the ugliest hotel you will ever see. Concrete everywhere you turn, our towels seemed clean but stained yellow...?

When we pulled into the parking lot my son thought it was a factory. The picture you see above does not do the hotel justice in that it is MUCH worse. If we go back to Huntsville it won't be to stay at the travelodge I am sorry to say.

There was a big party at 2:30am that woke my son and I up as the walls are paper thin....
