The woman at the desk was very helpful. The restaurant was good.
However, the building is in rough shape. There are two large buildings joined by a long, long, long tunnel that never seems to be vacuumed. Every building and hall has heaved off level. The swimming pool water is an inch from the edge at the deep end and more than a foot and a half from the edge in the shallow end, no exaggeration. It would be a nightmare for anyone with mobility problems.
The halls and the rooms in the 200 block smell like kitchen grease. We were able to open our windows as they faced the back yards of homes. The themostat was impossible to work. The furniture, especially the beds, are old, squeaky, and unstable. Like most hotels, sound was an issue.
On the second day the toilet kept running. I jiggled the handle and the tank eventually filled. However, it took five minutes between flushes. When I called the desk, someone came in five or ten minutes but said, "It's a slow toilet." and left. It wasn't before. I guess they are used to things not working properly.
The biggest issue was the lack of maid service. The second day, no one came to our room at all. The third day they changed the sheets, replaced towels, and may have cleaned the tub. However, it did not seem vacuumed and the sink was definitely NOT cleaned.
Although the pool was warm and it was nice to have it to myself, the water in the shallow in was so low (because of the sinking floors)I could only swim half the length of the pool without hitting bottom. The hot tub was small but pleasant. However, in order to get to half the rooms, people have to walk trhough the pool area. Also, I don't know how they ran out of pool towels when in four days, we only ever saw three kids swimming.
The place was cobblestoned together and needs to be torn down and rebuilt with some decent planning. Cleanliness needs to be stepped up.
I will not go back.
