“Nice Place to Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 April 2010

I was with 2 colleagues on business. We originally were planning on staying here for one week and moving to another hotel. We liked the place so much that we decided to stay at Sutton Park Inn. First this is no Hyatt Regency but for clean spacious rooms, friendly staff, and great atmosphere, this is the place. My only complaint was the hard bed which many people prefer. The rooms had a couch, cable tv, WiFi, refrig, and microwave. The restarant was value for money and the food was home cooking by "Peggy". The hotel doubles as the local billards parlor where teams come and compete in a wholesome family atmosphere like bowling. Beware, Mike the owner will come by and say hello and engage you in good friendly conversation. I would stay there again.

“Poor value for the money”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 September 2009

This place is now the Sutton Park Inn. It's tired and run down. I payed extra for so called "renovated" rooms. The hallway to the rooms was dark and poorly lit. The bathroom is tiny and although it is slightly updated, the furniture is broken. The dresser with the tv on it had missing handles. The wall lamps were practically falling off. The switch on one was busted so I turned it off by unscrewing the lightbulb. The room had poorly installed wallpaper which was peeling off.

A few of the other units had boarded up windows. The place just looks run into the ground. The walls are paper thin and I could hear the guy next door talking on the phone. To pay 100 bucks a night is not worth it.

The staff was friendly.

I only stayed here because the Best western was full.

“Terrible”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2008

First of all...don't be fooled by the pics on the site, the rooms are dirty, outdated and just plain disgusting. Upon check-in the place seemed nice...friendly staff had a dinning room everything looked good, we took the key and proceeded to our room. First the carpet in the hallway was dangerous...because it had folds in it. Then as we walked into our room, well this is there it all went down...rooms we're dirty they had cobwebs hanging from the ceilling, bedding was stained the chairs we're stained. I mean I have never stayed in a place like this. Its too bad because Kincardine is such a beautiful little town.
Also, talking with the manager was like pulling teeth, he did not want to hear anything one had to say. He even encouraged us to check-out the next day. All I was asking if house keeping could give all the rooms a good cleaning. What we got back...was $20 off our stay. Room's we're not worth $100 per night.

The Kincardine Howard Johnsons has done many upgrades it seems from the last time I stayed there. The rooms are better, cleaner and the staff friendly. This is still a work in progress, as they are continuing to upgarde other rooms.
Good stay, good people, good prices.
