Although the hotel’s staff was very welcoming, this motel-style accommodation has the dubious honour of being the worst we experienced in our four-week tour of Canada.
Its location, just back from a main highway and a very long walk from downtown, rather works against it, particularly for a group arriving in a coach. The inn doesn’t have a restaurant so, if you don’t have your own transport, the nearest eating house involves a torturous walk across the highway with inadequate pedestrian crossing facilities.
Our room was on the ground floor, with patio doors opening onto the car park at the front of the hotel. It had the advantage that, while we were in the room, we could open the doors to get some ‘real’ air. By the same token, it lacked privacy and, when we left the room, security was an anxiety.
However, the room itself was adequate – plain decor, comfortable beds, poor lighting, but generally very clean. WiFi was free in the room. The bathroom was small but sufficient for our one-night stay.
Overall, an okay place to spend a night, although I’d have to think twice about staying any longer.
