The purpose of our stay was to take our 22 month old daughter to the hospital the next morning for surgery. We chose this motel because it is super close to the Owen Sound hospital. We arrived just after 8 pm. Entering our room we noticed the heater was not on ! It was absolutely freezing. (daughter didn't need to freeze, she was already Sick. The heater did work...howeve our room wasn't comfortable until 1230. Our room had 2 beds which were comfy, however the 3 of us shared to stay warm (using sheets from both beds to keep warm). The room was clean as expected however the hotel is in need of some serious updates ( toilet,sheets,curtains,tile) however the carpet did seem fairly new.

Okay for the price.

I was travelling to Owen Sound with 3 sisters for an event at the Tom Thompson Gallery and since it was winter did not want to drive home on a snowy night. Prior to my trip I checked TripAdvisor for reviews of hotels in the area and based on the reviews decided to book the Owen Sound Inn. I was very nervous because it was priced well below other hotel/motels in the area. Not very impressive when drove up to the Inn but we found the front desk person very pleasant and friendly and were in our rooms in a matter of minutes. The rooms facing the back of the property have a beautiful view. They have private balconies to enjoy the view if the weather is good. The double rooms are large and have a frig and microwave for your convenience. I booked 2 double rooms because there were 4 adults in our group. I personally found the beds very comfortable and had a great sleep. Nothing fancy here but clean, pleasant rooms and good value for your money. We visited Tom Thompson Gallery, The Festival of Lights, Harrison Park, Inglis Falls. All beautiful in winter as well as summer.

Having high standards in even budget hotels levels we can honsetly say we had an excellent experience staying at this hotel. In the beginning we had only planned to stay one night and ended up staying an additional night because our stay was such a positive experience. Our hosts were very respectful and made us feel very welcome. They were wonderful to our 3 younger children. Rooms were very clean, quiet and comfortable, making it an excellent value for our money. Why pay twice as much staying somewhere else when they offer everything you need...and it is very clean. Breakfast they served us was great and satisfied us all... they made sure all tummys were full ...including the kids! We will definately return to Owen Sound Inn and will highly recommend it to others.

I booked a room from expedia.ca a month before my trip to Owen Sound. Upon arrival i went to check in and was told i didnt have a reservation with that hotel, even tho i had a conformation number from expedia and one from the hotel. They said i didnt give them my credit card number, but i purchased it through expedia so they had it. Expedia said they screwed me out of the room for a higher paying customer.Hotel manager blamed expedia and me, said he phoned me and emailed me but those are both lies. The clerk and the manager were very ignorant to my wife and took no responsability for there greed. Just blamed everyone else. I will never stay there and i would advise anyone who books through an on-line company that they check before they go as they may not have a place when they get there. Fortunately i found a much nicer place but it cost me 60 dollars more and expedia will do nothing about it either.
