The entire stay was a disaster from beginning to end.

We arrived at the hotel to find out that they had cancelled our reservations. Apparently someone called them to cancel their room and either provided the wrong reservation number or the front desk keyed it in wrong, because they ended up cancelling ours. The person who called was apparently rude, so they flagged us as difficult cusotmers. When we arrived they realized their mistake and found us a room, but it was embarassing to say the least.

However, the room they gave us had been flooded only hours prior, because the person above us fell asleep in the bathrub (?). At least this is what we were told. They claimed they fixed the problem, but when we walked into the room, we noticed the carpets were soaked. We notified the front desk immediately and they said they would have people come by the next day with fans (this was 11pm).

Unfortunately we woke up the next morning at 6:30 am to water pouring from the bathroom ceiling. The hotel now claimed that a pipe burst. They couldn't offer us a new room since they were booked, but gave us a room key for a different room to go shower. Hooray.

We left for the day and when we came back, nothing had been done with the carpets. They were still soaked and the entire room was damp and mouldy smelling.

When we checked out on the Sunday, I asked what they were planning on doing with the bill. We were assured that they would only be charging us for one night. Satisfied with this, we headed home to Ottawa.

I checked my Visa statement online only to discover that they still charged for both nights. We were in Owen Sound for a family reunion and it turns out that another member of our party was billed 3x more than what the room was.

I feel bad for anyone who stays at this hotel. I will never recommend it and will make sure people know about the terrible service.

This hotel was not managed very well... Check in was 3pm and when we got there at 3pm, our rooms were not ready....the front desk told us to wait 15 minutes...after 1 hour had passed, our rooms were finally ready.... i felt bad for the other people who had a wedding to be at and their rooms still weren't ready either.... once we got to the room, the key lock didn't work...which front desk knew about all along as it was the only room with a broken door lock.... we recieved the master key for the hotel instead (which was a joke, it opened all the other hotel rooms)....the breakfast was busy in the morning and the room hadn't been cleaned very well...for the price we paid for one night, this hotel was not worth a penny of it.

This motel was clean and quiet and included the standard cont. breakfast. If you're looking for a pool and other extras then the Super 8 in Owen Sound would suit you better. We just wanted a place to sleep and this was perfect for us. Ther's also a Timmies across the street.

So my few nights at the Travelodge were a great sucess, fresh fruits , warm and cozy rooms , and great parking at the rear where my room was held. My family and I greatly appreciated the front desk staff and all the help. Our room was clean and neat and the nice Tv's were a great touch.
