Another great stay for our hockey team, we were there right after Christmas for 2 nights. Clean rooms , friendly staff, we are back again im March. Our kids always look forward to the pool.

we stayed here about a year ago and the hot tub wasn't working then. so this time i called and asked if the pool was heated and the tub was working,because this is the reason we go there instead of where ever. we were told " sure they are" so we booked with a credit card for a room on the first floor( spouse has health problems). when we got there no first floor aval.,we decided to let that go.we unpacked and decided to go to the hut tub. found it didn't work. talked to manager telling her this is why we came here and that we were told it was working. she told us they would adjust the room price by $8.00 i said not good enough, we are now tired and don't want to drive on.
later we went to their restaurant and ordered steak, server came back sorry we don't have any, is there something else you would like?
the next morning i went to get coffees from the restrt. came to $5.35, i gave the server a $10.00 she looks thru her purse for change as she had no float!!!! i just couldn't belief this whole ordeal. i later talked to members of the pool club who informed vme the hot tub hadn't worked for at least a couple of years their waiting on a part???

This Hotel had a Diesel Fuel spill on the main floor.
The Hotel smelled liked diesel fuel.
The smell was pretty bad through out the Hotel
The staff put me in an other room but you could still smell the diesel fuel.
The manager offered me 15% discount for my next stay.
I will think twice before I go back to this Hotel..

As the title says, the staff was very accomodating and were friendly and professional.

Maybe I've been spoiled by staying at the Hilton chain the last while, but this property simply wasn't worth what we paid. Compared to spending an extra $30 or $40 and getting a larger room, pillow top mattress, feather pillows & duvet, salt water pool & whirlpool, good fitness equipment, and a fabulous hot breakfast, this inn simply misses the mark for the price point.

Our mattress was rather uncomfortable - my wife and I both woke up with backaches, and I felt very badly for my son who slept on a cot - he probably would have been more comfortable with a sleeping bag on the floor.
No fault of the hotel, but the chlorine was overwhelming thanks to a child that had thrown up in the pool. I couldn't stop coughing from the gas churned up by the whirlpool. And I needed that whirlpool to soothe my sore back. The staff were very quick to shock the pool (and close it down) - kudos to them. But I definitely prefer hotels with saltwater systems.

If I need to stay in Owen Sound again, I will try another hotel that isn't showing its age.
