“Nothing great but decent enough”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2010

We stayed here for one night with our two young kids as we were passing through the area. When we first pulled up, I was tempted to drive away as it looked very run down. When we finally got the nerve up to go and check in, the room was actually decent. It was clean and had a seperate sitting area with a pull out couch. When we opened the couch for the kids to sleep, we noticed the sheets had not been changed. WE called down and housekeeping came pretty quickly to make it. We had issues with our key, which didn't work on the two times we actually were using it. WE ended up with a discount on the room. Golden Griddle was also closed "due to an emergency" during our stay. Would we stay again? If we needed to be in the area, not really sure what other options we have. Wouldn't be the worst thing.

“Good value”

While the hotel is somewhat dated, the rooms are large and clean with comfortable beds. The air conditioner is somewhat noisy which appears to be norm for hotel rooms. There is a nice indoor and an outdoor pool. We found the staff very helpful and accomodating to our young children. The Golden Griddle has below average food, but avoids the need to go into Parry Sound and the wait staff are very nice. Good for a short visit - Cost - $145 is somewhat high, but that appears to be the going rate. We stayed at the Georgian Inn and Suites last year - a place to avoid as room was very musty, unlike Quality Inn room.

“Good Times”

We are a recently married couple and decided to visit the cottage country and Parry Sound being close and with many things to do, was the location we settled with. We decided to go with this hotel because of the Country Feel along with the vast amount of amenities it provides.... We were confused about getting there but it turned out it we saw it while driving to parry sound on our right. The staff was good, food was good (Golden Griddle), there is also a bar but it wasnt used by us, we went to the town to drink there. It was a fun stay, we got everything we wanted (gym, pool, squash, etc)

Of course you need to enjoy the outdoors to enjoy all of this.

“Awesome hotel. Parry Sound's only pool...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 June 2009

First off, the hotel staff from the front desk to housekeeping and bartenders are all great! So fun to talk too will do anything for you!

Great hotel. Have stayed several times. The smoking rooms are aging but still in good shape. The non- smoking rooms are in the new part of the building and are in awesome shape! Bathrooms have been redone with granite counters which add a lot to the room. Every room I've stayed in has a fridge and microwave also which is convenient if you get tired of the Golden Griddle in the lobby. There's also a bar which is a bit older style but has the best wings!

A lot of people may think it is an overpriced hotel at around $145 a night, but when the staff tell you their well priced, they aren't kidding! My wife and I called the Comfort Inn up the highway and they were almost $20 more with no pool or restaurant.

This hotel is pretty well the only place I'd stay in Parry Sound. It isn't downtown Toronto and the people who posted the reviews before me obviously don't realise that. The kids love the playground too and apparently the outdoor pool is opening in July.

“Horrible Hotel Would NEVER return.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 March 2009

First off i have been to this hotel twice. I only came back the second time because the other hotels did not have pools/hot tubes or they were out of order. I found a LIST of issues with the hotel and the hotel room.
- long black hair between my bed sheets
- bits of candy cane on the bath room floor
- nut shells under the bed
- the front door leading to the hall ways of the rooms (which should be locked and only opened with a room key) was open so anyone can come into the hallway and pool area. [very unsafe for people who have children]
- the bath tub was filthy
- there was a fly in my room that just randomly dropped dead on the desk.
- the internet did not alwas work. I would get limited connection, which usually means they need a new router. I was connected to the interent for one of the three days i was there. Other people in the hotel were complaining about not being able to connect
- the conditioner was missing from the wash room and two open lotion bottles were there with shampoo.
- the hot tub felt like there were grains of dirt on the bottom. The water from the hot tub was soo unclean it made me break out on my chest and i have really good skin and rarely ever break out.
- i've been to other hotels and normally i see someone coming and checking the water quality making sure its clean but the entire weekend i did not see anyone check the water quality.
- you can hear everything from outside and above you.
- there were well over 50 ski-doo. it appeared that there was a convention or something but we were not informed about how loud it would be at all hours of the day. Early in the morning we could hear engines reving over and over and over again.
- the front desk checked us out before we paid and charged the credit card, when we said on the first day we wanted to pay debit not credit.
- there are huge pot holes in the back parking lot. We got a flat tire from the conditions of the parking lot.
- The cleaners were nice <-good point

The first time i attended Quality Inn i had less issues and i made my complaints to the owner and the owner did nothing but say we will fix the problems.
I will NEVER go back to quality inn and i would not reccomend any to attend this location.

Quality Inn is unclean, and not safe.
