“Nice little hotel in Parry Sound”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2011

Neat, clean, quiet and close to everything. I found the price to be very good at $68 per night and my dog was allowed. It's hard to find these little motels anymore and I enjoy staying in a motel that has a little character. Muffins were great and it was a good experience. Nothing fancy but a good stop. I would recommend it.

“Very nice but expensive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2011

We spent three nights here, ands found our room beautifully furnished and scrupulously clean. It was a standard simple motel unit but the owner had put a lot of hard work into making it homely and attractive. It's on the northerly main road into Parrry Sound but the sound insulation was excellent and we heard no passing traffic. We did, however, hear the hooting of the CN (or CP?) freight trains passing about 300 yards away every hour thru the night!

Hair driers (or 'blowers') weren't provided in the rooms but the owner kindly provided one when asked.

An adequate breakfast of home-baked muffins, juice and coffee was included in the price.

The accomodation wasn't cheap. Due to a mix-up on the phone when booking, we understood it to be $109.00 per night including tax, which seemed fairly reasonable, and the quality of the room was better than average, but when we checked out, we were told that tax wasn't included, which boosted the price to $122 per night, which we felt was excessive, as we could have stayed at a Travelodge or Comfort Inn for less.

It's a nice place to stay, but be sure to establish the true cost in advance. The person who took our telephone booking wasn't the owner, and mistakes happen.

“Nice Clean Motel”

Stayed for 3 nights was a vendor at the Art in the Park. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Nothing fancy but clean and quiet. Had a nice spot with a swing and picnic table to sit outside. Fresh baked muffins and orange juice in the morning.

“Nice mom & pop motel at a reasonable price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 May 2008

We had been touring on our motorcycle on a cold and windy day. Nice to find a reasonably priced motel in a resort area. Nothing fancy but a clean, comfortable place to spend the night. Friendly proprietor, too. Free breakfast in the a.m. consisted of freshly baked muffins, juice, and coffee.

  • Liked — reasonable price
  • Disliked — a bit outdated but nothing that was unappealing
