“This hotel may cancel your reservation at any time”

This review is in addition to another similar review from above (but from different reviewer).
I made a reservation to Oak Inn hotel a month before my trip and received a written (by email) reservation number. The hotel was chosen because they have kitchen units. A week before my trip I was called and advised that this kitchen unit is given to somebody else who asked to stay longer than I booked and they do not have other kitchen units available.
I was completely disappointed and had to get another hotel room with kitchen at premium price.
Be careful when booking this hotel - it does not belong to any big chain and owner cancels reservations the moment they get better bid. Be aware - your reservation might be cancelled by hotel staff at any time. Good luck.

“clean, comfortable and cheap!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2009

Given this hotel's low room rate, I was leery when I came to stay. But the place was very clean and up-to-date. The beds and pillows were new, and the staff was friendly and professional. This would have been a bargain at twice the price; literally. I consider the Oak Inn to be a *find*!

“Very convenient”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2008

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and thought that we could not have found a better deal. It was very convenient being 20 minutes away from Canada's Wonderland and about 35 minutes from downtown Toronto. The room was clean and the beds were extremely comfortable but it could use a little updating. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nothing outstanding but it did the job. The hotel is located in a Toronto suburb so it's very residential thus very quiet. All in all I would stay here again and would recommend this hotel especially for a family with a tight budget. I would also suggest the Lebanese restaurant across the street for which I forgot its name.

“For the extra money stay elsewhere!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2008

We stayed at this motel back in 2006, in a room with a kitchenette. The room was clean and the staff was great. This year we decided to go back to Wonderland and stay at the same motel. I booked the same room with kitchenette back at the end of June for our Aug 19th trip. The room was booked and I even called 1 week before going down to confirm the room. I spoke with the male desk clerk and he confirmed the room for 2 nights. We arrived at the hotel around 6:00pm to check in and I was informed by the male desk clerk the room was not available. I asked how the hotel could give the room away when I had reservations and confirmed 1 week prior. I was told “someone made a mistake” and offered me a standard room. I asked for what cost and he advised regular rate. I now became upset as they screwed up and wouldn’t even offer me a discount on the room. I expressed my displeasure and left and stayed at the Hilton in Vaughn Ontario(which was just amazing). I would not recommend this motel nor will I ever stay at again! For the extra money stay elsewhere! I did not find that the clerk was at all helpful even though THEY made the mistake.

“Another working musician....”

I stay at this hotel 8-15 times a year. The staff is always very friendly. The hotel rooms are immaculately clean. I have always had hot water. Sometimes the noise from other rooms is a little loud but I sleep with earplugs in every hotel I stay at. There is no other Hotel that I know of where you can get a non-smoking room with a fridge and a microwave for a weekend rate of $69.00. I have tried other hotels in the area and none compared as far as value. It's not the Ritz but neither does it claim to be. Great value for the $$
