“You get what you pay for”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2011

Ok, let's start with the good. This hotel/inn was very affordable. The room was relatively clean and comfortable. Plus, the surrounding area was not bad. There are shops and restaurant close by and there is a bus stop right across the street from which u can take the Viva going to Finch station.
The bad, we had a room on the first floor. Whenever we opened our curtains, we saw some of the hotel staff standing outside and smoking during break, so we kept the curtains closed. There was a bit of mold in the bathroom, which I didn't like. Finally, this inn is far from downtown Toronto; in good traffic it'd take at least an hour to get there.

Room Tip: don't stay on the first floor

“Strange unwillingness to clean the bath”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2011

For the money, not a bad hotel. You don't expect luxury at a Travelodge, and this is no exception.

On the plus side, a HUGE room (paid upgrade for the bigger room) and big, comfortable bed. Everything about the room was a bit run down, and not as clean as it could be, but it all worked. Non-smoking room, but some smoke smell from adjoining rooms through the ventilation.

Only really strange thing was that the maid came in every day to make bed / change sheets etc, etc, but never once cleaned the bath. I had to do that myself every time, but I guess that's what hotel flannels and shampoo are for?!

“Great staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 May 2011

The room was clean but the bathroom could use some updating. The location was noisy with road noise but close to I-95. The evening desk man, Walter, was wonderfully friendly and helpful. The morning desk clerk was busy with the breakfast and the breakfast room was the lobby but she kept smiling politely while juggling her tasks. The pool wasn't open yet and that area was not cleaned very well. Waffle House was next door.

Room Tip: Ask for a rooma round the back, away from the roa.

“Nasty”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 September 2010

The room smelled bad, the carpet was torn and stained. In making my reservation I had made it known I was checking in early, but was still charged $10/hr until 3:00pm for an early check in fee. The price given was NOT the price I booked at.
The bathroom was dirty around the sink and toilet. The area around the microwave was littered.
I could not get my $ back, but left to stay with my brothers in another area hotel.
Nasty, nasty nasty sums up my experience.
Never again.

“Cheap and satisfactory but noisy air conditioning”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2010

The Travelodge was perfectly satisfactory but nothing special. One of the beds wasn't very well made and the undersheet came loose in the night. The air-conditioning was very noisy and we had to switch it off overnight. Breakfast was fine.
