“Things are looking up!”

I stayed here for one evening as I was preparing to leave the city in the am and didn't wish to drive through all the downtown traffic. I stayed here once before but transferred after one night to the Sheraton which is connected as I was not very fond of the room at that time. That being said there are many positives to this hotel. #1) Renovated rooms with brighter colours, and adequate lighting + super clean. #2) Access to some great dining about 1-2 blocks in any direction especially Asian Flare! #3) Connection to a Asian shopping and food in the building. #4) FREE WI-FI !!!! Not like Mariott's chain $$$ for everything. #5) Awesome desk personnal such as Khlid and Elma. Smiling, helpful staff who make you feel both welcome and special. Prices were reasonable but I ended using my reward points to stay. Hotel staff connects with you should you bring up any concerns. My only issue was the in room wi-fi was not cooperating..... Tech problems happen. Usied the compter in the lobby. Best Western is the way to go. I am soon to be a Diamond member becuase of my faith in the Best Western chain.

Room Tip: I stayed on the second floor and it was both renovated and quiet

“happy with stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

This is an older hotel but the beds were very comfortable, there is a fridge and microwave and the wifi worked fine so I was quite happy with the room. Could have used a safe. There is however no elevator to the second floor which was a bit of an issue for the older relatives in my party who needed help with their luggage. There is no breakfast included though a very busy Tim Horton's next door, Starbuck's in the attached Sheraton lobby, and we went to some Chinese breakfast places a block away. The parking was crowded. That intersection is a very convenient location for the bus and in retrospect I would not have needed to rent a car to travel to and from the airport as there are several routes that run along Highway 7 from Richmond Hill Center. Check in was quick, though later I had trouble calling from the room and to have my phone unlocked for some reason. Overall happy with stay and would come again.

Dear Thbucu,

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your recent stay. I am happy to hear you enjoyed your stay, but let me apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with your phone. Sometimes there are computer glitches that are quickly fixed with a simple call so luckily we were able to remedy this defficiency quickly.

Our location is very convenient for out-of-town travelers and they are continuously improving our public transportation system. We have the VIVA bus system that provides access from just in front of our doorstep that connects you with the major transportation hubs to get wherever you need to go in the city. We also have lots to do within walking distance including over 30 restaurants within walking distance.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the 3-diamond Best Western Parkway Hotel.

“rooms are great”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2011

The place looks a bit run down- was thinking about changing hotels from the outside but the rooms are really clean and have all new amenities: fridge, microwave... The different people working at the front desk were so helpful. Breakfast for some reason was not include which is strange considering the 50-60 hotels in this chain that I have visited usually have it included with the room charge . The restaurant or cafe sort of thing was not very good. It is is in close proximity to stores and restaurants but it seems like everything opens after 9am and it was freezing outside so I missed the convenience of an early breakfast since my meeting was at 8am.

Dear Walden123,

We appreciate you taking the time to provide us with feedback. On your next visit, be certain to visit the Crave Restaurant, which is just down the hall from the Front Desk. They offer a continental and full american buffet breakfast starting daily from 6:30 AM.

We also have a Tim Horton's located in the parking lot which is very convenient and open 24 hours a day. Unfortunately we do have cold winters, but we do have a Starbucks onsite that you can access without ever leaving the hotel.

“Pleasantly surprised”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 June 2011

I've stayed in nearby hotels during previous visits to Toronto but since this time I was passing through for one day only, I thought I would take a chance and give this place a try. I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was curteous and efficient during check-in and check-out. The room was standard size and was clean and well decorated. The furnishings were well chosen for the room. The beds had extra thick mattresses with nice duvets. I was pleased that they made a computer with a printer available for free in the lobby so I could print out my boarding passes and avoid the lineups at the airport.

The area around the hotel has few things for tourists as it is a light industrial area in an almost rural setting; most buildings appear to be low rise offices. There were a few restaurants nearby but I would definitely not recommend trying to walk around looking for one as they seem to be spread out over a wide area. So if there's to be a complaint, it would be the location but with a car that should not be a problem.
