“A DRI disappointment - very underwhelmed for 8500 points”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2010

Apparently Diamond Resorts exchangers get the worst room. Ours was on the ground floor above the underground parking garage door - even though there were other empty rooms.

The TV in the living area was missing the remote. It took 3 days to get a new one after being told that maybe we didn't look hard enough for it because the previous guests never complained. We moved every stick of furniture looking for it. It's not that we are too lazy to get off the couch to change the channel, but if you want to see the TV guide on channel 2, and the program you want to watch is on channel 52, you have to hit the channel button 50 times. On a positive note: It does have cable TV.

Compared to other timeshares, we were disappointed with the one frying pan. There was no spatula. No salt and pepper. The largest glasswear would only hold about 8 ounces with ice. On a positive note: The fridge has an icemaker.

As others have commented, the free internet access is through a 'wired' port in the kitchen. Fast, but you need to bring your own wireless router if you want 'wifi' type access that is typically available at even the cheapest hotels (my timeless timeshare complaint about internet access).

“Run, run, run to ANY other accommodation”

Location - fantastic
Decor - 1980's
Staff - couldn't care less about your comfort - our air conditioning was broken ... when reported to the front desk I got a shrug of the shoulders and a "what do you want me to do about it?" Was told that the whole building was out ... it was nice and cool in the lobby at the front desk, also the office off to the side. Guests on either side of us said their rooms were nice and cool. Maintenance man agreed, finally, that it was broken but that he would be the one to decide if and when someone would be called to fix it.This is actually our home resort and the first time we've used it in 15 years ... we trade a lot for places in other parts of the world.

We were so upset and disappointed in our treatment that we left.

“Nice, quite location away from town, units dated”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 March 2010

This was a trade through II for my Marriott property in Lake Tahoe. This property was once owned by Marriott but unfortunately is not anymore. The 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit was a nice size and came with washer/dryer, kitchen appliances, some pots and pans, plenty of glasses, mugs and dishes. The unit was stocked with coffee, sugar, salt/pepper, dishwashing liquid, dishwasher soap, plenty of paper towels, trashbags and a single load box of clothes soap. I had read several reviews stating those things were not provided so I was pleasantly surprised. The units are up Three Sisters Drive about a 2 mile walk to town. The location was very quite with walking trails close by.
The furniture in the unit was very dated. We are very self sufficient and it is a good thing because the front desk did not seem very interested in helping with the couple of questions I did have about the area. The front desk is only open from 8-5 daily. Guess I don't know what you would do if you had a problem after hours. There is a library with a computer and movies for your use but it too is only open from 8-5 when most people are out enjoying the area. They did have wired access in the units, no wifi.

“VERY NICE”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2010

A bit of a drive to the ski hills, but Canmore is quiet and low key. Condo was huge and well equipped. Washer and dryer in the unit is a huge plus. Hot tubs and pool were nice, but not new. Exercise room and "library" also a bit dated (no printer). In-room internet access is free, but not wi-fi (ethernet cables are free to borrow). Two maintenance issues arose and were partially resolved. DVD player cable was promply replaced but dirty air filters in furnace were supposedly godo for 1 more month and were not replaced when we asked. We left the heat off most of the time and were still comfortable due to heat from below and excellent insulation. Lack of 24 hour front desk attendant was odd but not really a bit deal. HEATED underground parking was a nice plus!

“Beautiful and Calm - Perfect retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 March 2009

It was such a lovely resort and the serivce was great. The front desk hours were limited but staffs were professional and friendly. The resort had wonderful amenities such as library (free internet!), exercise room, hot tubs and outdoor pool. The resort offered one time basic housekeeping service at no charge but if you need full cleaning service you would have to pay extra cleaning fees which is typical for timeshare accommodation. Well maintained property with splendor veiws of surrounding mountain peaks!
