We stayed here in Sept 09 before and after a backpacking trip and we seemed to have a better experience than most. We paid $80 per night, one of the lowest rates in town. It was clean and functional and we had no problems. Granted, we didn't need a wake up call, or internet access, or restaurant recommendations, or extra towels, or a free breakfast, or a Banff guide, or a room with a view, or any of the other things that other people are dissatisfied with. If you need that, head next door to the Radisson and buck up princess.

Also, the rooms with a view are on the noisy (road) side of the motel.

My experience is quite different than everyone elses.
My wife accidently booked one night at this hotel thinking it was in BC.(clicked on the wrong link).
Thinking it should be no problem to cancel.We have tried three phone calls.All we get is an answering machine and nobody calls back.We also have tried three emails and no one returns those either.
So I'm am left with the conclusion that this place is hurting for cash and is hoping we just go away so that they can just keep our money.
Well let me tell you I'm not going away.I will check into this place AND I WILL GET MY MONEY'S WORTH!
Based on my experience with this place I would not recomend anyone having anything to do with this so called "INN".

Mountain View Inn is located next door to the Radisson. If you are looking for a basic low cost hotel close to downtown Canmore then this is the place for you.

Don't expect the red carpet to be rolled out by the staff as you would get a better conversation from a brick wall. Keep in mind you are here for the nature and not the company of the staff.

Enjoy the mountain views, location and relax.

Horrible experience...DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! I repeat...DO NOT STAY HERE. Oh...the BLOOD ON THE BLANKET!!!!!!!! ..the bathroom was disgusting, the toilet ran all night, the heater made a horrible racket, the remote on the tv didn't work.....but it was the blood on the bedding that really got me. The front desk guy was no help at all, and when I did manage to get him to phone the manager TINA (who lives in Edmonton), told me there was nothing she could do. When the housekeeping staff (1 guy who lives in the hotel) came to the front desk, he told me that no-one had stayed there in 2 weeks.....I could go on and on....but really...the picture of the hotel is deceiving. The only reason I stayed there was because there was no vacancy in all of Canmore....except here. Read the other reviews...and do not stay here!
