We called an hour before arriving in Canmore, and we were delighted to find out that we received the last available room, which happened to be a suite. Suites are two floors: bottom floor with bathroom, comfortable living room with electric fireplace & flat screen TV, desk, minibar, coffee maker; top floor had a comfortable queen sized bed, 32" flat screen TV, jacuzzi, and bathroom. The windows are large and provide a nice view of the mountains. Check-in/out was quick and easy and staff were always very friendly. It's located in Canmore, approximately 15min from Banff so it is a bit more relaxing and quiet. There were also plenty of elk around!
The only downsides were that jacuzzis were loud - we were woken up by our neighbours turning on theirs. Also, every holiday inn that we have stayed at included free continental breakfast, however this one did not include that option. We also found the bar menu was a bit limited (this was not a huge deal though as there is so many amazing restaurants in Banff, so you should try to experience these). The hotel's hot tub was small and in an awkward location (outside, next to the lobby/restaurant).
Overall, this was a great hotel and we would definitely stay here again!
