nice european appliances and spacious suites with nice (looking) but very uncomforable sofa and chairs. Worst bed pillows ever! Filthy hallways (stained & dirty) with flickering lights and constant stream of dust bunnies blowing in under the door of suite. Very strange layout to complex with bizarre arrangement of (very limited and sub-par) facilities; takes forever to walk to theater, hot tub, games room or front desk and not children friendly in that respect. . Theater, but no movie one night. Several amenities/extras that are listed in rooms did not come with even when requeisted i.e.) DVD player/ps2 as were told there was; dish & laundry soap, dish cloths. No maid service over 4 days save towels once. Just forget about asking for anything as they just don't respond or care. Reception staff just too inexperienced and ignorant to be helpful the point of being outright rude. Unimaginative and dirty rec/hot tub rooms. No heat on electric fireplace and broken mirror in bathroom. Attempted to overcharge error on checkout though did finally correct after pleading discussion and absolutely unapologetic. GIVEN THE CHOICE IN CANMORE, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE, PERIOD. Where is the service and care in ownership these days!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Solara Resort in Canmore back in December for 1 night. My first impression was of the Front Office when I checked in. The decor and set up of the Front Office is professional and welcoming. I was instantly greeted by the Front Desk Agent who welcomed me to the hotel with a smile. Check in was quick and flawless. The agent explained the amenities and the location of my room. The parkade was large and easily layed out. My first impression of the room was "Beautiful". As an individual who works in hotels and a former Housekeeping Manager, I quickly inspected the room for cleanliness... It was spotless. I especially appreciate how they recognize their housekeeping staff with a letter attached to the mirror in the bathroom acknowledging who cleaned the room and the opportunity to turn their name into the Front desk to appreciate their hard work. I did this without hesitation.
The room is large, well stocked with kitchen amenities to make a home cooked meal, washer and dryer, spacious bathroom with one of the best soaker tubs I have ever seen in a hotel, and the most comfortable bed ever!

The resort is riddled with amenities: Hot tub, kids water park, spa, 100 person movie theatre (Amazing), Business centre, huge fitness centre and meeting space.
It's also a short walk to downtown Canmore!

I used to live in Canmore, but moved to Calgary and I am a frequent visitor to Canmore.
There is no doubt that this will always be our place to stay.

Our 3 day stay at the Solara was overshadowed by poor service, inappropriate comments by hotel staff and the kids pool/play area being shut down without any knowledge of it until after we arrived. While the suites are nice, they cost to stay is higher than what I would expect to pay for substandard service and leisure activities that are unavailable. Next time we'll try something else.

We stayed here with my parents in a 2 bedroomed room and we instantly blown away by the rooms. Everything seemed brand new and was just perfect. The bed was so comfortable I didn't want to get up!

If i had to be really REALLY picky the only thing I could complain about is that the main bedroom had a tv but ours did not, but that isn't even a complaint as there was one in the living room we could watch.

Cannot wait to stay here again, just have to save up some pennies!
