“Great B&B, great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2007

We stayed here for three nights on or trip through the Rockies. So glad that we stayed in Canmore rather tna Banff. By the Brook gives you a warm welcome, access to a lovely, relaxing little town with lots of restaurants, places for coffee, opportunites for some good walking and of course the views - not that we saw too much of them because we had a fair bit of rain. Accommodation very comfortable and good breakfasts. It beat most of the hotels that we stayed in hands down and we'd certainly come back again.

“Friendly B&B in a fantastic location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 September 2007

We stayed at By the Brook in April 2007 during a 2 week trip around the Rockies. Paul and Corey were very friendly hosts and the warm, well furnished B&B more than exceeded our expectations.

It is located in a quiet cul-de-sac location within easy, and pleasant access to the centre of town, the countryside and even a shopping mall.

Paul & Corey knew the area well, and there was much information in the room, and available in the B&B on what to do, where to go and places to see.

The breakfasts were varied - 4 nights, and 4 different breakfasts. The bed comfy and the whole B&B had a friendly, warm and comfortable feel to it.

Would thoroughly recommend it, would love to have stayed longer and look forward to being able to return one day.

“Just Okay”

This was a nice house in a quiet location. The hosts were very friendly, the breakfasts were okay but the housekeeping was terrible. We stayed for 3 nightsand the bed was never made up, no clean towels were offered, and under the bed,the dust was about a half inch deep. On the second night, I moved a chair around to use my laptop and a pair of dirty womens thong panties was laying there. We won't go back to this place.

“One of the best B&Bs stayed at for a lonnnng time”

My wife and I stayed here for a couple of nights at the end of our Rockies trip in Sept 06. Situated in a cul-de-sac, the house looks quite nice from the outside, but inside it's something else!
Lovely open split-level main area (lounge/breakfast area - bedrooms - guest coffee/Tv/relaxing area).

Corey and Paul were very welcoming and chatty hosts. Corey's breakfasts were superb.

Our room was modern, stylishly decorated, very comfortable bed, Sat-TV + DVD player, amazing bathroom.

Location is great too - A pretty 10mins walk into town along the river, for access to great places to eat, coffee shops, and generally a really nice town ("Grizzly Bear" pub: excellent beers & very good food, "Luna Blue" - very good pasta restaurant with some 'alternative' dishes)

Only wished we were able to stay here longer.

By the Brook is a nice quiet bed and breakfast. It is really close to town and there are beautiful walking trails that take you right to the city center in minutes. The house and rooms were neat and tidy and the beds were very comfortable. I would highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast to anyone planning on travelling to Canmore. I give it 5 Stars.
