“stunning room with beautiful views”

we stayed here for new years eve, checked in at 4pm and was stunned by our room it was great with awesome views and we had a loft room with fireplace and kitchenette and a whirlpool bath which was great, clean and tidy and warm and cosy infact we did not go out we got takeaway and just chilled my 5 year old loved it.
we expected the noise level to go up with it being new years eve but apart from about 10 mins it was ok the most noise came from the train track right outside and we were woken up by the trains about 5 times its pretty noisy and the room shakes a bit, this hotel has good facilities and nice staff we did want to eat in but they were charging to get in the restaurant and that was before you ate all because it was new years eve we felt that it was a rip off but never the less we had a good time and parking was plentiful.
the only thing we found was this room needed cutlery it was a kitchenette with toaster etc etc but nothing to eat with.

“It's okay but you can find better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2010

My family and I stayed at this hotel for one night. I had no idea what to expect as we've never stayed in Canmore before. To be honest, we only stayed at this hotel because hubby won a gift certificate at work to stay for one night free.

Let me first say, the hotel was clean and the lobby inviting. The front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating.

The room we were assigned was a deluxe room. Apparently, that means bathroom, small kitchenette, table, sofa bed, fireplace and loft bedroom with King. I didn't feel it was safe to leave little kids sleep on the sofa bed downstairs while we slept upstairs so I went to check out another room. The only rooms they had left were ones with two double beds. I knew my hubby wouldn't go for a smaller room so I decided we'd make it work. He slept on the sofa bed with one child, while I slept in the loft with the other.

Well, after spending time in various hotels around the world I've come to realize not everyone believes in updating furnishings. This hotel had done some remodelling but could have used newer furniture. The carpets seemed new but ours had mud or dirt stains in various spots. Compliments of inconsiderate hotel guests no doubt.

The king sized bed was nice and hard but I didn't mind. The sofa bed was not so nice from what I've heard. Bedding was just alright - sheets, a thin blanket and a coverlet. I've been spoiled at other mountain hotels with duvets.

I found the room stuffy and was pleased one of the windows could open. The windows were dirty which spoiled the mountain view but I suppose cleaning windows is not high on the priority list. Our fourth floor room faced the railway tracks which was either fun or irritating depending on your age. The kids loved watching the trains whiz passed at full speed. My husband and I thought the four that shook the hotel during the night was not conducive to sleep.

The great thing about plenty of trains is you can be up early to see the sunrise if you're lucky. It's always great to watch the sun rise over mountains.

With our stay we had two free breakfasts at the hotel restaurant. Our breakfast was pretty good despite me not being an egg person. Everything on the menu had eggs. No bagels, just toast. The restaurant wasn't busy and there was only one server working. Food was brought out when ready and was a good portion size. The coffee was warm which is my only complaint.

Aside from my disappointment with the decor, this hotel is okay for a short stay. Staff are friendly, the rooms mostly clean and if you're into trains, you must ask for the train track view. My only regret was not saving the piece of Rocky Mountain Soap Company's soap from the bathroom which was a lovely touch. A free night was a good deal but for me, I'll be checking out a few other quieter newer hotels next time we visit.

“Nice choice for budget traveller”

We stayed at this place for 2 nights and had a 1 bedroom suite. It has a pretty spacious bedroom with 2 double beds and a sofabed in the living room. So you can sleep 6 persons in total. It also comes with a kitchennett which is very convenient if you want to fix something for breakfast or lunch. The location is pretty good and approximately 15 mins driving to downtown Banff. There is also a visitor center close by and you can get some maps and information from there. The frond desk lady was helpful when I requested to switch my room to the other side of the building due to the noise of the passing train. They also has a cute little restaurant with live music at night.

Had no problems with this hotel. The room was clean and well taken care of. Had breakfest one morning in the resturant and it was very good and the service was good also.

“Great Comfort and Value for the Money”

This hotel is centrally located to everything. It is a very upscale room, for a good value. Part of the room allows you to share good laughs with friends, while the other side is laid out as an ensuite. It is also centrally located to a lot of the ammenties in town including restaurants, other accommodations and food and so on. The front desk staff is very polite, and will answer any questions that you may come across. The guy that we saw was able to give us a couple of ideas for dinner time. If you want a hotel for relatively economical prices, then consider this location.
