First of all, we did enjoy this facility and the suites are very nice ! This was our first Christmas away from home to stay in the mountains and needless to say, the mountains are majestic ! The scenery in Canmore area is outstanding. We have a few suggestions to make this resort stay a whole lot better though. The suites really need doorbells installed because we had a hard time hearing when someone was at the door. The internet wireless in our suite was simply pathetic and over our three day stay, we had to carry our laptop to the front desk area just to use the internet. That is not what anyone would like to do and it is almost embarassing actually. I suggest at least installing a stand-by good old fashioned hard-wired lan line so at least a person can stay in there own suite for privacy and relaxation. I was told that there was definitely complaints about the wireless and that there had been a few previous attempts to fix the problem but there was still no solution. I say do the right thing and even though you may have spent money trying to repair the problem, someone needs to spend the money to fix the problem for good and install the lan lines so we can just plug in our computers if need be. I for one would have been extremely happy to plug in my pc so I could upload pics and talk to my other family back home who did not go to the mountains for Christmas. Also the TV/DVD Combo was not working very well either. That was also a wireless setup between the devices.
We enjoyed the laundry facilities and had to go to Soby's to get laundry soap because not enough was left in the room to do a few loads. Also the dishwasher soap was not stocked up so we had to ask for more to wash our dishes ... remember we were having Christmas so we did cook a turkey etc., etc., which meant there were lots of dishes to wash over three days. The underground parking was awesome and I really recommend it. A little disappointed with the cleaning service as well as a few other folks were that I see in the reviews.
Just to make it clear, we did enjoy the resort and the mountains but the price is a little on the high side in my opinion and especially when you consider the things as I explained above. I would possibly stay again but I would check for rooms closer to downtown in the future just for the convenience. Sorry but just saying it how it is !
