“November 2010”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2011

Sorry for the late review. This place is so special, we visited in late November 2010 when the snow was on the ground. The cabin was ready for use when we got there with a log fire burning, what a start. Our stay was peaceful, tranquil and spectacular. Nothing was too much trouble during our stay, this was an highlight of our trip, and we would love to return. If you want 5* luxury stay away, if your want a warm cosy cabin with surrounding to melt your heart then you must try this. Many thanks for making our dream Ron & Teresa xx

“Nice, rustic and romantic setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2011

It is just by the river and the teepees are so nice, rustic and the whole place exudes such a nice charm. This was the highlight of our trip. I liked this more than the wonderful and beautiful rockies

“beyond our expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2011

My husband and I had never stayed at a B&B and we just wanted a couple day get away so we made a last min. reservation . The Rustic Ridge is an ecclectic little cabin overlooking the Athabasca River, very private and exceptionally clean! Carol is a very gracious host with great tips on local activities AND the breakfast was super!

“Best Family Vacation ever!”

We booked 2 nights in teepee 2 this year and surprised our girls (ages 6 and 11). From the moment we arrived I knew that we had made the right choice! The property is breath taking, Carol and Mary are wonderful people and the teepee was a hit!! It was so nice not to have to pack everything for camping. Having the stove, barbeque, fire pit, mattresses, matches, paper, chairs and personal picnic table sure helped us not have to bring as many items along with us. Everything about the teepee was adventurous and fun! We especially enjoyed falling asleep to the sound of the Athabasca River.
Breakfasts were available in the morning which we enjoyed and it felt like being at home. We all enjoyed the welcoming environment and wonderful food.
We discovered a little beach down by the river with hammocks and lots of great skipping rocks. Many hours of fun for the kids and the parents.
As a surprise we had scheduled an hour long trail ride for the family, not knowing how our 6 year old would manage. It turned out to be a wonderful family adventure thanks to Mary who is such a wonderful guide and person. She welcomed us like we were family and let the girls help get the horses ready to ride. We learned so much about the area, history and horses as we talked with Mary. My only regret is that we didn't book a longer trail ride. We had to break down and find time for a 2nd ride the day that we left or suffer the consequences of driving home with 2 very disappointed girls!! I strongly recommend that you find time for a long trail ride while you are there. The scenery is beautiful and the horses friendly!
Overall this was, according to our girls, the best family vacation that we have taken. We made sure to book 3 nights for next year including 2 extended trail rides ... we are all coating down the days until we can come back.
I hope that anyone reading this will find time to make a stop here. It is a wonderful example of a beautiful Alberta vacation complete with mountains, rivers, wildlife, campfires and wonderful hospitality.

“Fully enjoyed the "Rustic Ridge Cabin" (Family of 3)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2011

Staff were very friendly, professional, and very very accommodating. No indoor plumbing in this cabin was no problem. We were very close to all of the amenities yet still enjoyed our very own secluded river front shangrila. Complimentary breakfasts every morning in the main house was like joining our extended family. They have all types of accommodation here, but if you don't mind stepping out for a shower or flush toilet, this cabin is really nice and otherwise all-inclusive. Sorry I haven't downloaded my pictures yet, but I am sure that you will find some on this web-page. Check this out and enjoy a real vacation getaway. Sincerely; John.
