We spent 5 days at Old Entrance and enjoyed it thouroughly. Having stayed in Jasper several times, we thought we'd try a B & B further out as we wanted the solitude and quiet surroundings. The cabins are spread out nicely on this site, and the views are very beautiful, as the mountains provide the backdrop to the forest across the Athabasca river. I loved sitting on the porch listening to the leaves and also, reading in the hammocks down by the river with the sound of flowing water and light breezes blowing. Our hosts were delightful. The breakfasts were great, and the horseback riding was wonderful. I went twice in the 5 days that we spent at Old Entance, and enjoyed the experience each time. The views of the forested area around the property are spectacular, many wildflowers were out at this time. I have never seen so many tiger lilies in the wild! There are also several old buildings on the property; an old school house and a trapper's cabin that add to the charm of this B & B. One of the hosts, Mary, grew up in the area, and has done a great job of bringing some of the history alive through the preservation of the buildings and also, bringing the old Entrance Train Station to life. Thank you Mary and Carol!
