As a non-smoker I was shocked to be assigned a room for smokers, facing the back parking lot on the ground floor. It is the worst room I have ever booked using online booking and I believe the online rating is misleading for this hotel. On a very busy long weekend we were lucky to change rooms when we complained and were given another room that came available due to cancellation .This second room was satisfactory, but still below our expectation.

I asked for a quiet room - all I really want from a hotel most of the time is a good nights sleep. The clerk (who I believe was the owner) assured me that unlike newer hotels, all rooms were quiet. Now, they may be well insulated from highway noise, but when the occupants of the rooms on either side of me got up at 5 am and started showering and banging around, it sounded like they were showering in MY bathroom and banging around in MY room. Since the hotel was less than 1/3 full, it would have been quite easy to give me a room away from the tour group which seemed to be their only other customers.

When I complained to the front desk in the morning, they said there was nothing they could do because I had reserved online! WTF?!

Apart from that, a clean room with dated finishings and a comfortable bed, and a reasonable rate.

If only the clerk had believed me when I said I needed quiet.

The hotel room was very nice, and very clean and comfortable. The hotel itself especially the restaurant, bar is very cool. The restaurant food was fantastic!!! I would go there again just for the food as well, if I couldn’t book the hotel next time.

Went with a friend on a trip to Jasper and decided to stay in Hinton because of the price. Hojo Hinton was a good hotel to stay in for this reason. The pool and fitness area looked good, but did not go in it. The room was a bit dated but the beds were decent and the TV was a nice LCD mounted to the wall. They offer a free breakfast, which was decent with bagels, juice and cereal and things like that. We checked out the restaurant on our last night at around 11pm for a late meal and it was decent food and decent prices, nothing special. Essentially, this hotel is a great place to sleep for a good price, and very close Jasper. For us there was no need for anything special because we only needed a place to crash. We were a bit peeved that we were put in a room right next to the ice machine. The hotel was not full by any means and we were wondered why that had to be the room they put us in, but other than that, I recommend this to anyone heading to Jasper, looking for a place to sleep and a place less busy. Oh and also, the high speed internet was free and fast, we liked that!
