I am not a well-heeled travel snob who stays in high class hotels. When I do stay at a hotel, it's an economy class place and all I ask for is a clean, safe place to get a night's rest. That being said, this place is an absolute dump
Owner clearly is not interested in keeping this place up, it is falling apart. Clueless gal at the front desk (I interrupted her Nintendo DS game) gave me swipe cards to a room that only locks with a key, I had to go back to get room changed (incidentally, that room with a key-only doorknob stays unlocked all the time...) Our room is old, dirty, and smelly. Smells musty and like old cigarette smoke (non-smoking room), spider webs with spiders in the corners of the room, door swipe card only works maybe one out of 20 times, leaving us wondering if we will be locked out of our rooms next time, attendant assures us they work just fine if you hold it right. Bathroom had bugs, large hole in tile where water leaks through, behind the wall, and out the side of the tub, ceiling has stains and mildew and a very rusty light fixture, sink taps leak lots of water from the knob, spilling water all over the counter. None of the phones in the hotel work, according to front desk staff. The single electrical outlet by the bed only works if you turn the wall switch on, which also controls the main light to the room; therefore you can't use that outlet to plug in an alarm clock, cell phone charger, or any other electrical device overnight unless you leave the lights in the room on. I climbed up on the counter and unscrewed the lights from the fixture so that we could plug in our cell phone and alarm clock overnight. The bathroom fan sounds like a jet airplane, which was a blessing because it drowns out the sound of the neighbors through the paper-thin walls. TV is missing buttons and remote control works 'sometimes', The entire premises is neglected, garbage and beer cans strewn about the parking lot and yard. No one bothers to mow the grass, the entire place is overgrown with weeds and thistles, very run-down. Pillows were very old, flat, and full of nothing but crushed pieces of foam. I did not try the pool as I don't trust the safety and cleanliness of it based on the rest of the hotel. Same goes for the "free breakfast". The only reason we chose this place was because they had a cheap deal on a group-buying website, and when I looked at the ratings on the Langley TravelLodge, I was apparently looking at the Langley City TravelLodge, which apparently rates much better. We showed up at 11:00 at night with a tired baby, and could not get a refund at this point. I would most definitely never stay here again, would caution anyone who is considering staying here to put out the extra 20 bucks and stay at one of the many nice hotels along this road. End of story.
Room Tip: Go to a different hotel!!!!
