I booked with the Stone Hedge for a weekend with two girlfriends as we were all attending a roller derby bootcamp at Minoru Arena up the road and were wanting something close... I made the booking with Brian (one of the owners) who was over the top accommodating for us. We were given the family suite, two bedrooms, (3 beds in total, one king & two twins), two bathrooms (AMAZING stone shower with the greatest water pressure, and a jacuzzi tub (they said two person, but the three of us managed to fit!))... We were blown away as we were guided by Brian (who picked us up at Bridgeport station at 10pm!) to our entrance at the back, to see the immaculate, illuminated bright blue pool with a fountain in the middle. Being shown the suite, all three of us jaws dropped... The incredible attention to details made us feel so pampered and welcomed, beautiful flowers, a delicious lemon loaf, chocolates on the pillow and who could forget the ever-replenishing grand marnier by the bed. We immediately hopped in the pool and were delighted by how warm it was when it has been so cold out! The gardens surrounding the pool are gorgeous, filled with the sounds of birds and tall trees shelter the yard so it gets sun, but you feel as if you are the only house for miles! Two dining areas, a park bench, and lounge chairs surround the gardens... No matter where you choose to sit, it is beautiful.
We were blown away by the breakfast EXPERIENCE. Fine dining poolside with gold cutlery and several courses, each one better than the last. Decadence is the only way to describe The Stone Hedge. I can't say enough good things about Brian and Linda, they were so accommodating, providing unexpected rides, bringing snacks and treats, (replenishing the grand marnier. lol), providing the history of Richmond, taking pictures for us in the gardens, providing IMMACULATE suites... I could go on and on... There is no question that we will be staying at The Stone Hedge again, and our reviews could not be higher! (We were also shown the Safari House, it is just as beautiful!)
If you are looking for a quiet and decadent getaway and want to feel pampered, I highly recommend The Stone Hedge.
Room Tip: If you are not taking the entire family suite, try to book the safari room.
