“Good location and price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

Have stayed here a couple of times and like that its close, but not too close, to the airport and its one of the best value places to stay if you need a night just before leaving Van or just arrived.

Pros: The free bus picks up fairly regularly from the airport. The rooms are comfy and just what you would expect from a North American hotel room. OK walking distance from the sky train. Price is one of the best in the area.

Cons: The immediate area is not great and the walk to the sky train can be a little uncomfortable at night if you are on your own. The breakfast is ok but not great.

Thank you for choosing the Holiday Inn Express Vancouver Airport to accommodate your hotel needs during your recent stay in the Richmond/Vancouver area. We appreciate your business!
Being an airport hotel, there are limited options for shopping or restaurant selections in the immediate area. A short 8 minute walk to the sky train, will have you in the downtown core of Vancouver within 20 minutes, where there are endless possibilities of food and shopping. The staff and I look forward to welcoming you to the hotel on your next visit to the area.

“Efficient Comfortable Transit Stop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

For a layover in Vancouver, this place is clean, great king sized bed, hard and soft pillows, free wi-fi decent free breakfast, room coffee microwave and mini fridge, and free shuttle. Perfect choice for a decent price.

“Great spot near the airport”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We stayed for 5 nights on three separate occasions during the month of January while waiting to fly out of YVR. The rooms were quiet, clean, well appointed and very comfortable. Breakfast was very good, but while not a great selection, enough variety to start your day off well. The Skytrain Bridgeport Station is two blocks away if you have no car and that gets you downtown or the shopping in Richmond very quickly and efficiently for under $3 per person. If going to YVR there is a very convenient, timely free shuttle. The front desk staff, on each stay, went out of their way to make sure that all our needs and questions were met. They were efficient and very pleasant as well. They made our three stays very enjoyable. On top of all that the price was right in our budget. The only wrinkle was that getting to the hotel if you have a car is not very convenient especially in the dark. If you are driving, follow the signs to Richmond and when you see the Westin Wall on Sea Island Way, the Holiday Inn Express shows up about three blocks East and one block North.

Room Tip: All the rooms have views both East and West. Ther are really no rooms better than others we found.

“good quality accommodation for an airport stopover”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

We stayed here the night before departing from Vancouver airport and booked this based on price and a previous stay in Holiday Inn Express in Milan, Italy which was excellent.
The rooms were very clean and comfortable, not that large but fine for an overnight stay.
There was a bit of noise from the Costco delivery ramp in the early hours but not terrible.
The breakfast was quite reasonable in the dining room, e self serve cereals, etc and my son loved the hot cake machine. the staff were very nice on reception with advice on restaurants nearby . The free shuttle buses kept to schedule except for the morning when it was delayed by snow,so leave extra time incase in these conditions.

we have stayed at Holiday Inn on previous visits and I thought I would try this as I needed two rooms and it was less expensive. Overall, it was good value and very clean.

Dear Graftongal,

I am glad you enjoyed your recent stay with our hotel and had an opportunity to sample our newly added item, pancakes. We do work closely with the Costco adjacent to our hotel to enusre thir delivery times are reasonable, however with so many suppliers, this is sometimes a difficult task. I assure you, the experience with their early morning delivery times is the exception, and not the rule. I trust your trip to Italy was enjoyable and we all look forward to welcome you to our hotel again.

“Good Location with room to be improved”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

Location is nice not far from airport and yet close to many places in Richmond.
The room is small but comfortable. Bed is nice and both soft and firm pillows are provided.
The room come with a standalone airconditioner, microwave and a minibar fridge. It is located right next to Costco in case if you wanna buy something from there.
Internet is FOC and good speed. Carpark is complimentary access by the room key only. I feel safe in the hotel. Small lobby and attached with a breakfast area. Breakfast is more than standard, come with hot and cold items. Each day they have different choices from standard eggs to Bacon or sausage. Hot cake (pancake) machine is just great! Fully automatic and clean!
One disappointment was during check in. When I made the booking, i have chosen two beds room. I changed my mind when i check in. The front desk staffs refused to change the room type as they said my room is pre-booked and pre-assigned and they are not allowed to change it as it is the hotel policy. This is the first time i heard that. I understand in case there is no room available to change but even if there is room available but yet not allow to change is just blow me off. I demand to talk to the manager but the manager is not available. After fighting with them for mins and they finally change the room. But why such a frustration!
Otherwise, it is a good hotel for short stay!

I am very pleased to hear you enjoyed the many comforts of our rooms, our pillow selection, internet speed and the many options we offer our guests for breakfast.

I apologize for how we responded to your question regarding a room change and will work with our team to improve upon this situation. The hotel must honor the room type reserved when reservations are made through a 3rd party website. I apologize this was not properly explained to you and your party at check in to avoid any confusion or frustration. It doesn't matter how you booked our hotel; all guests should be cared for properly and we'll continue to work hard on extending all guests the best possible service. I hope you'll consider us again in the future.
